I've had to deal with broken computers many times before, so I know how it goes. (It also taught me quite a bit, learning how to fix them when something does go wrong.) Take care, and I hope you do find a disc!
I'm glad you found a solution to fixing your laptop. Hopefully after it installs, you can retrieve all of that memory you lost. It's so weird how kids can damage technology so easily. You'd think that most gadgets would be child-proof. xD
