That really is too bad. I know what you mean, about something being fun but it's so different from what you had been wanting and expecting that you don't really enjoy it. Like riding roller coasters is awesome, but when you thought you were having a nice relaxing picnic by a lake with friends (and that's what you planned and were prepared for) it's just not quite the same.

I hate going to the raves at cons. I would much rather be able to hear the person I am trying to talk to and not see so many people making fools of themselves. I think having a ballroom dancing thing would be much nicer. I hope maybe it will work out for you next year (if you decide to try for it again).

Yay for friendship and internal connections. lol

It's a shame how dances everywhere tend to degenerate into the same thing, no matter how they're described at the outset. All the ballroom dances & formals I've been to at school have met with much the same fate.

Sounds like your audience didn't grasp the essence of ballroom dancing or didn't really give it a chance. That's too bad really, that kind of dancing is fun. I know I would have found that irritating to help set things up only for people to ignore it.

Yes, it's always nice to happily get along with old friends, no matter how long it's been.

Wow... the ball sounded like it kinda stunk. Too many rules hampering the fun backfires about every time. Pfft. Dress-code. *rolls eyes*

Be true, be you and of course, be otaku.
