Super late, but I really don't understand why it's so impossible for a good video game movie to be made. It's sort of like how before everyone thought graphic novel movies will automatically suck or be really campy, and so no one took them seriously. But recently, things have changed in that regard.

Still waiting for that to happen with video game movies. Honestly, there is good material to be found in game storylines. Why hasn't one single really good video game movie been made yet? :/
