from my experience, if you end up starting your cosplay maybe a year and a half in advance, it's all about technique, and doing things proper because you have the time. But you know... when the con is only about... lets say a week away, then it's all about being crafty. >__>;
Then again, it's not only you who's sewing, you've got extra people working there as well. I swear I'll help you clean up XD; if you need help.
