Valkyria Chronicles History:

(I consider this more backstory than spoiler, but since the series will probably fill it in soon enough, I'll tag it as such.)

The Darcsen Calamnity came about way, way back in the past supposedly, when the Darcsens and their black magic ways caused massive destruction on the land of Europa. Then the Valkyrur came over the sea from the north and smacked 'em down with Ragnite-fueled righteousness. So people are still bitter about when they practically blew up the continent.

Or so the story goes.
