On an epic move on my behalf, I actually watched some anime recently. Well, one to be exact. Nevertheless, who could not like Hetalia? 5 minutes of madness is right my up alley, so I'm sure to return to it more often. It's quite fast paced, so I know I'm going to have to re-watch some of them a few more time.
Now if someone could do something about that axis of evil...
The thing with Gundam Wing, is that they tried to re-tell the entire original Gundam story and make it happen in one year's time. So everything politics wise is mashed together. The reason it was so successful in the States is because of all the fan-girls and their yaoi fantasies. The story aspect of it all kind of fell off to the side when all that happened.
To sum up:
Popular - Definitely
Confusing - Uh, yeah.
OK, I thought that was the case, which is why the, er, "residue" (for lack of a better word xD) confused me so much. Thanks to everyone for answering my question! :D

(Speaking of Al's body, am I correct in assuming that writhing demonlike thing that's left after all this goes down is what remains of Al's physical form? Good lord.)

I'd been searching for a way to describe Masamune. He really is "like a friggin' rock star." I am absolutely loving that show. XD
If you never saw the original FMA, we really need to be careful in what we say. Spoilers would be soooo easy.
Hetalia was priceless. I think I pretty much laughed through the entire episode.
