    I have not seen it, but I remember reading about it somewhere. I'll add it to the list! :)

    @Shinmaru:

    Yes, Borders pretty much only sells the more expensive special edition packages of those Kurosawa films. I don't typically buy my DVDs from Borders anyway, but it's fun to peruse the international film section every now and then to see what looks good.
    Also, since I'm prone to fanatic behavior, I'd be likely to buy the special edition anyway...

    After reading your movie list, I have to wonder, have you ever seen Shadow Magic? It's a pretty neat movie that takes place in China around the time "moving pictures" were introduced.

    Haha, this is a relatively slow year for my movie-watching, actually -- only picked up around summertime when I ceased to have any obligations outside my internship. :P

    If you're ever curious about any of 'em, feel free to ask, btw.

    I'm guessing the version of Seven Samurai at Borders is the Criterion Collection version, right? Those are always expensive, because Criterion includes a crapload of extras with the movies they release -- it is very thorough, haha. Very interesting if you're a big fan of the movies. I will probably have to check out Seven Samurai again because I did not have a chance to go through all the fun stuff yesterday. :)

    Crap dang, that's a lot of movies you've seen thar.

    Good to hear Samurai Seven was as good as its reputation. I was thinking of maybe buying it someday; perhaps now I'll rent the movie first to see if it's worth the ridiculous price Borders demands for it.

    EDIT: Just realized I spelled it Samurai Seven... like the anime... *facepalms*

    You know, I saw that DVD all the time whenever I was at my school's library looking for movies. I'll keep it in mind. :)

    One movie you must see. 2003's Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman.

    Epic.

    A movie I've seen before you? No wai! Yeah, Seven Samurai is good stuff--it's what made my friend fall madly in love with Toshiro Mifune and his nipples. XD

    Don't forget that super-long take from Hard Boiled in the hospital where they NEVER have to reload and the shotgun is basically a rocket launcher! Freakin' love that . . .

    Glad you enjoyed Hidden Fortress and Seven Samurai. Also, I'm totally in agreement about the spear duel . . . heh, then it ends with him dissing the guy when he wants him to cut his head off after losing.
