I saw The Illusionist about four months ago, and it immediately became one of my favorite movies. It's a great twist on the 'whodunit' medium, and good whodunits by themselves are rare these days anyway.
Of the three X-Men films (well, now it's four, but I'm referring to the trilogy), I like the 2nd one the best. I think it was a step closer to director Bryan Singer's intentions in making a superhero film, where it contains some substance without sacrificing the action.
Concerning Odin, have you seen Ikki Tousen? I'm not sure if that has any real redeeming features at all.
There will be four people the first day, and we'll be up to five or six on Friday. So hopefully I'll never be in want of people to walk with at night. :p
I think it's like four or five blocks away ... like a 10 or 15 minute walk? Something like that. There are shuttles from the convention center to the closest hotels, but those stop at 9 p.m.

Oooh, Anime Expo! :D And wow, your first time going all four days and staying in a hotel! It's a really different experience, in a good way, so I hope you get the most out of it.
Just how far is your hotel from the convention anyway? If it's only a couple blocks then that's not so bad.
The only movie I've seen from Beat Takeshi is Kikujiro, which I ended up really not liking. Hopefully his other movies aren't all like that.

I'm more of a fan of the original The Thing. I really can't stand horror, and John Carpenter's re-imagination is pretty high on the freaky level.

I love the fact that you watch classics("old" movies), I really do.
Also, I was supposed to have been at AX this year, but due to unfortunate circumstances it's no longer going to happen. You must have fun for me!
"Have you fallen in love?" "No, but I've stepped on it."
