Good ol' Aronofsky didn't disappoint me with Black Swan. To me, the film was stylistically somewhere between Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler. I thought it was a nice character study that touched on the possible dangers of what makes a person great - at all costs.
I'm still waiting to see what my taxes look like. But yay for winning on your end!
Also, you need to look into the following movie titles: The Troll Hunter (or "Trolljegeren" in its native Danish), and Big Tits Zombie. I feel as though they may be somewhat near your alley.
