I didn't have a problem with Tevye's choice -- that's the part of the final repetition I liked. It makes sense from his end, especially considering the time/social circumstances/his role as a parent/etc. And it's portrayed as a difficult decision. All that works for me. It's just that I didn't care about the last daughter or her choice of husband at all. lol

Ehh, I thought the development of the three daughters and their respective beaus in those scenes was fine. I liked how in the final scene Tevye didn't turn away from God for the sake of his daughter... which is perhaps something I value more as a Christian. I dunno.
Also, that's exactly why I like Kiki's Delivery Service! The way he just presents the fact that witches are around as totally normal. It really pulls the audience in, I think.
Fiddler on the Roof is one of my favorite musicals. It actually bothers to develop characters where a lot of other musicals gloss it over with, "LISTEN TO OUR PRETTY SONGS HURR."
