I didn't like the first season as much as the second one. There's a lot more character development in the second one, although you will cringe at a certain decision somebody makes when you're halfway in. And if you don't mind the bubbly-ness, then you should give it a try.
I've heard a little about this, but not much to really go on. I'll have to do some quick research to see what it's about. (But not too much, since I like having minimal knowledge as possible when I'm about to watch something. Keeps my mind reasonably free of fandom colorings and official reviews.)
