I'll take the advice about the text background, and as for the bottom portion, I was working on adding more bones (like the vertebrae, ribs) + a heart between them; but the rose idea is appealing... and it would bring a little beauty and even out the morbid theme of this. I might find a way to incorporate both.

I think I'm not fond of the text, the placement is interesting and I kinda get your idea and intention but it looks distracting. It takes too much from the skull and the whole concept.
Pande's idea of the wall of the text is pretty good IMO, it might work better. And maybe add a larger font in the middle part like this or this.
I also think this looks a tad empty and this comes from someone who LOVES TO DEATH negative space but this is too much, especially the lower part, I think you could add some roses and petals scattered? Since roses are dramatic :P Or even more bones!
I want your strange crap on my desktop nao! While the skull had me going "duude, that's awesomee", the cockroach had me squirming in my seat. Kudos to you for including it! However, my monitor would definitely curse you for me hitting it out of reflex *ponders*
I think it looks good enough on its own, sans background, since the details (bone fragments mostly) are more visible that way. Or you can try adding a wall of text on very low (10-20%) opacity in the background, as a detail.

It looks great already! *____* I really like how you combined all the images, and the typography looks great as it is. <3 I can't wait to see the finished product!!
