The description of your workplace sounds rather similar to mine [though obviously different occurrences]. Owners who simply don't care and aren't aware, mysterious paychecks, slightly more than illegal facilities...it ain't pretty.

People don't help the stress either. From what I remember, personal assaults against bus drivers has been at a high in Vancouver alone - just people upset that the bus didn't do exactly what they wanted, so they punched the driver in the head before getting off. There's been worse too.
I do hope the freight work comes through for you. This bus thing isn't sounding so hot. Otherwise . . . I guess I can hope that the union thing will pan out, because bus drivers deserve that kind of protection regardless of the other stuff.
