Aphrodite High

Chapter 2: New Apartment with Roommates?!

The Headmistress made her way onto the stage and everyone slowly fell silent until you could hear a pin drop in the room.

"Ok everyone, everyone here knows what kind of school this is. You can be yourself and learn how to control any abilities you may possess, as well as blend in to human society better. You'll all eventually graduate, and learn more than you realized. Oh, and Miss. Clary, yes you are special, but you have to figure out your gifts on your own but I assure you, you are here for a reason. Classes begin tomorrow and you will all receive you schedule tonight, any questions please visit my office." The Headmistress spoke over the loud speaker.

My mouth dropped open. I was shocked, but also I felt slightly embarrassed being singled out like that in front of the entire school. Well at least in front of the class. I know that there were maybe sixty- seventy kids in here give or take a few but still…

"See you are special. You just have to figure it out." Dai chuckled.

I felt my face heat up and was probably bright red, "This day has been insane..."

"It'll be fun. Do you have a dorm room or are you going to be going back and forth from home?" He said excited and happy.

"I..." I didn’t know what to say. I lived about an hour and a half away and I didn’t want to bother my parents with driving me to school everyday since I wasn’t even old enough to get my permit yet. But if I got a dorm here would my parents have to pay for it out of pocket. Oh there were so many questions on top of questions that I didn’t know what to think any more.

"Have a small apartment just on the edge of campus." I jumped a little when the head mistress finished my sentence and handed me a key to apparently my new apartment.

“So what's her power if you know and she doesn't Headmaster." Blake asked. He was so blunt I couldn’t believe it. He really doesn’t seem to beat around the bush.

The Headmistress just smiled at him, "All will be revealed in due time Blake. In the meantime, you'll walk her to this address along with these two gentlemen." She told him while handing him a slip of paper with what must have had the address to my apartment. "Relax and just feel it out Miss." The headmistress chuckled.

"I just met her why do I have to go?" Blake asked and he did have a point we literally just met before the speech.

" Well you don't have to. Lance and I can just go with her." Dai said to Blake.

Blake snorted before he started laughing, "And leave her in the protection of a pixie I don't think so."

"Oh and Lance dear, when you bite her please remember we do need her alive so control yourself. Dai do not fly her up too high, and Blake please keep in mind that she is a sweetheart and has good intentions. She smells good to you so that should explain that." She chuckled and walked away from the four of us.

I felt my face heat up as I looked over at Lance. His face was beat red and he quickly buried it in his book.

“But headmistress that still doesn't explain what she is." Dai said which made me look over at him to see that he was looking up at her innocently from his seat.

Headmistress stopped and turned around, "Well, help her figure it out then! And those innocent eyes don't fool me young man."

Dai sighed, "Fine, but how are we supposed to help her?"

She just chuckled a little and left.

"...um..." I looked at the key in my hand "should we go now?" Since we were really the only ones left in the auditorium.

"If mister book worm would get his face out of that book we could." Blake commented. I wonder why he picks on Lance and Dai so much.

"Just hop over the seats it will be fine." Dai said and hopped over his seat with ease. If I tried that I’m sure I would fall on my face.

I tapped on Lance’s shoulder to get his attention, "Lance...we gotta go." I told him.

"I promise I wasn't thinking of that. I was never thinking of sucking your blood. I'm so sorry." His blush was still present across his cheeks as he apologized.

"Are you two coming?" I looked over at Blake and he had already hopped over his seat. I think he was getting impatient.

"I never thought you were..." I told Lance and then started over my seat as Lance closed his book and stood up.

"Come on." Blake sighed and grabbed my wrist to pull me the rest of the way over my seat. I tumbled forward and ended up clinging onto Blake’s shirt to steady myself.

"You okay?" He asked. For a minuet it actually sounded like he cared a little.

"Hey that's not fair Blake." Dai commented and I realized that I was still hanging onto Blake and I felt my face flush.

I jumped back quickly "y-yes I'm fine...sorry I'm sorry." I apologized like a stuttering fool.

"Lets get going." Blake said turning towards the doors and looking at the paper. I could have sworn I saw a light blush on his cheeks.

We started walking behind Blake and I looked up at Lance, "Does it hurt getting bit by a vampire?" I asked walking between him and Dai.

"It's a slight pinch then the pain fades quickly." Lance explained.

"Don't worry you won't turn into a vampire if he bites you." Dai teased nudging me lightly.

"Can we not talk about this please?" Blake sighed, "Why am I even walking with you all anyways." He grumbled putting his hands in his pockets.

I hopped up beside him, "So you have a good sense of smell? What about hearing? You have a tail right? Can I see it????"

"Yes, yes, and no." Blake answered. I was assuming that the not was to me seeing his tai I think.

"He's embarrassed because it's kind of fluffy." Dai stated with a hit of a laugh in his voice.

"Shut it pixie." Blake glared back and Dai.

"Fluffy is cute..." I said quietly.

"It's embarrassing not cute." Blake corrected me. He was embarrassed of his tail?

Then Dai did something that I didn’t think that he would do. He plucked a milk weed from the side of a small pond that we walked past and then hung it over Blake’s shoulder next to his face.

"Are you serious right now Dai?" Blake sighed.

Dai didn’t say anything he just smirked and shook it slightly trying to get Blake’s attention.

I could see in Blake’s expression that he was trying to ignore it.

"Dai it's not nice to tease!" I reached for the milk weed to pull it away but Blake started batting at it like a cat does to one of it’s feather toys.

I could hear Lance trying not to laugh and I couldn’t help but giggle a little "N-no Dai..." I hooked my arms through Dai’s and drug him away a little bit.

"But it's fun." Dai objected.

"I'll get you back pixie." Blake glared at Dai and I swear if looks could kill I think that Dai would have been six feet under by now with that glare that Blake just gave him.

"No fighting now...I've had a lot to deal with today, I don't need you boys getting frisky with each other." I stated getting them to stop fighting.

"So when I ran into you today what were you thinking about. You obviously had your head in the clouds." Dai asked me changing the subject. Well kind of.

"It this the place?" Lance asked looking up at a house.

"This is the one." Blake answered looking at the paper then back at the house.

"My best friend who just moved away." I answered Dai as I went and unlocked the door.

" Oh I'm sorry that they moved away." Dai apologized.

"Me too. But maybe I'll see him again sometime soon. Please come in..." I said walking into the house, apartment, thing.

"This is a nice little place." Dai said as I waited for the boys to come in.

"Not bad for a single person apartment." Lance stated. But when you look around it was kind of big to be a single person apartment now that I think of it.

"I wonder why I get this..." I stated out loud as I wandered around the house.

The headmistress must not want you to be having to go back and forth to home." Lance stated.

"I live more than an hour and a half away, I never thought I would be coming from home, but, why me?! I don't understand..." I said sitting down on the couch.

Lance sat down next to me on the couch. I could tell that he was thinking about it. "Maybe it will be more apparent when we start classes tomorrow and your more around everyone. There are other humans here but they also have special powers.”

"Ugh that's right. I smelled Madison earlier. No matter how much she tries to cover it with her nasty perfumes she can't hide her true sent." When I looked over at Blake he had a disgusted look on his face.

"I hope you don't run into her Clary. She's a bitch and thinks that she rules the school." Dai stated.

"She does? Now, I'm sure she's not that bad..." I laughed lightly standing up and going into the kitchen. I opened up the fridge to see what was in there and screamed.

"What's wrong?" Dai asked as I heard his light footsteps run up next to me.

"There's a live fish in here! A-and blood bags!" I stuttered pointing at it as it flopped around.

"Fish?" Blake said.

"Why the hell are my blood bags in this fridge...wait...don't tell me..." Lance asked a bit confused, "This is a one bedroom apartment isn't it?"

I noticed that there was a note on the freezer door, I picked it up and read it out loud, "I hope you get along with your new roommates. There is a staircase to the left in the back of the house, there are more bedrooms upstairs. All food and blood bags will be provided by the school at no cost to you. The other keys are in the envelope by the front door. There will be one spare bedroom for now...from the headmistress."

"WHAT?!" Blake yelled and quickly snatched the note out of my hands to read it for himself. "You have got to be kidding me." I could tell he was pissed by the sound in his voice.

"But one girl with three guys isn't that a bit strange." Dai mentioned.

"That headmaster is a bit strange too..." I sighed a bit and I knew if I was and anime character there would be a sweat drop there. "Well, we don't have to pay for food, or housing. Think about that at least...and no one here seems too perverted so..."

"I think she's psychic." Dai commented.

"Then can't she tell us who the spare room is going to go to in advanced so that we can tell them no." Blake said he really wasn’t happy about this was he?

"She's choosing to tell us only so much for a reason..." I crossed my arms "Eat your free fish and hush..." I said.
" What if I'm not hungry?" Blake objected glaring at me.

"Come on Clary lets go look at the rooms." Dai said pulling me away from Blake.

I let Dai drag me away from Blake "Are you ok with all of this?" I asked him.

"Yea I'm fine with it. After a while Blake and I will get along. I know we will." He smiled.

I smiled back "I’m a little nervous."

"Everything will be alright. I'm sure you'll adjust quickly and that you'll find some girl friends quickly too. You're a nice person." Dai told me.

"The rooms have already been chosen. Our stuff are in our rooms already." Lance stated coming out of what must have been his room.

“That’s so cool, come on Clary lets find our rooms!” Dai laughed and pulled me along with him down the hall.
