Anime companies (Like funimation ect...) send people to the conventions to set up these booths with a bunch of merchandise
Like DVD's, plushies, manga, blankets, book marks, wall scrolls, posters, keychains, hats, shirts... Just about everything~
Too bad there are no conventions near you though...
Maybe one day you'll travel to one?
