If I didn't publish it, I wouldn't be able to tag-search it later when we compile all the Writer's Jam participants.
Unless there was something completely broken about a story (like, say, really, really bad spelling), I was be more willing to clean it up as much as I was willing and publish it.
I've been a lot more relaxed about submissions with "Halloween" tagged on them . . . best I can say is that if you didn't think this would be published for some reason, then you probably shouldn't have checked that little box and said this was "another Halloween contest entry."
