I know. The hilarity of his failed antics is the only thing perpetuating the cartoon. Without Wile E's continual implementation of Acme products, the cartoons would have no substance.
Actually Wile E Coyote can run just as fast as Road Runner if he stopped buying his items from Acme.
Although the cartoon would end if he ever did catch Road Runner.

The key to a lot of successful short cartoons is keeping the formula the same while trying to insert as much material as possible until the ideas run out. Wile E actually catching and eating Road Runner would end the series permanently so the youtube video kind of plays it that way with Wile E not knowing what to do having succeeded.
"Loonatics Unleashed played as a sort of X-Men meets Bucky O'Hare channeling Biker Mice from Mars & Swat Cats." You are so right. Just looking at the picture makes me shudder (or maybe it's the allergies?).
The Loony Toons-related movies I like are "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "Loony Tunes: Back in Action." I don't think I ever saw "Space Jam."
My childhood was a lie... coyotes can run faster than roadrunners in real life.
