It's very hit & miss, poor pacing more than anything and the fact that Daisuke isn't a very appealing main character.
This is also a very early Vic Mignogna voice work and his first big role and his inexperience at the time shows; better singer than voice actor. The action is pretty decent though and the music is pretty good, if you can put up with the slow pace you might see something that others miss.

I just started reading the DNAngel manga, sounds like the anime isn't worth watching. Bloody shame.
