I ordered it from Crunchyroll. I order from there very sparingly, but I didn't know how many of this particular figure would be produced, so I took the plunge this time.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
Thanks. I'm not really sure what job I'll end up at yet either, but I've been applying for ones that I think will be a good fit for my skills. At the very least, I'm hoping to get out of retail.
As for my dad, they're saying he'll spend a minimum of four days in the hospital after the surgery, but I'll probably have to take care of him for a while after he gets home.
Also, I hope you don't have to pay more than you thought you would for that anime figure either. Out of curiosity, what store did you order it from?
I read what you wrote and being concerned about your dad is 100% valid. I've had to have invasive surgery (though not heart surgery), and the recovery was rough. I hope your dad has an easier time of it than I did! Best of luck to him.
I'm not much of a figure collector either, but I did preorder one this past February. I hope that I'm locked into the price I paid for it, and that the shipping charges aren't out of this world.
Finally, I wish you well on your job hunt. I don't know what field you're going into, but I hope that once you find something, it'll be a good fit.

@Keba Si Rota:
Well, as much as I dislike preordering anything from Crunchyroll, I think you made the right call there.
