The interlude is NOT the opening....It a recap section of the game.( ya know, Go back to the other worlds and collect some crap..) which is why i completely fail...
You can't get bast the opening? 0_o Uh....Didja try cleaning off the disc or bringing your Playstation into a game store (like GameStop) where they could fix it for you? That may work.
