I hope they have it! The anime doesn't get very far and I didn't even watch the second season because from what my friend has said about it, I think it's pretty much all filler.

You're going to like Brotherhood, it nearly identical to the manga, it's got a few differences, but other than that, it's exactly the same. Oh, if you do decide to skip FMA, make sure you do watch the Fullmetal vs. Flame episode based on the manga extra (I think it's the one where I got the quote from)

Yeah, my friend said I'd essentially be watching a lot of the same thing over, and I hate that, so I'm not sure what I will do...I will probably catch up on the manga first though, I have other anime to watch currently anyway

Omg, right?!? It really up to you, you could watch both and see how much different they are (they're extremely different, especially when they abandon the main manga plot)...or watch the first half of FMA (they cover somethings in more detail) then go to Brotherhood...but the latter would mean sitting through more recap.
