    I wonder what kind of incompatibility issues the 98 users would have. ._.'''

    Be sure to get the right one and read the instructions carefully. ;_; I bet I would've been finished within half an hour if I had downloaded the correct thing on the first try. ^^'

    Pretty much, and right now, it's absolutely out of the question. It took us quite a bit to get the XP machine we use now. I really feel for those still on 98, and I do know there are people out there still using it.

    That's what big companies do best: make excuses. >.> I think they're just lazy and unwilling too. And coz they can proably make more money by selling people the new stuff.

    Is getting the new system the only way to solve the incompatibility issues you have now? ;_;

    I've seen every excuse in the book from software people as to why stuff is tailored to SP2 and will not function on SP1, but none of that makes any sense to me. In my distorted reality, that boils down to companies admitting they're either too lazy, or just unwilling to support older systems which is a shame because otherwise reputable companies end up looking bad to those people who can't afford the latest thing every time it comes out.

    It's not the computer that gives me trouble, the machine does what I need it to do which is all I expect of it. The problem is keeping things up-to-date on it. I can't even use Yahoo! Video anymore because I can't install Windows Media Player 11, that requires SP2.

    Microsoft changes it's story about supporting XP every other day it seems, so it's hard to keep what they're doing straight anymore.

    Uh... @_@

    I remember you talked about the SP1 and SP2 on chat before. I'm sorry that the computer gives you so much trouble. ;_; Isn't there anything you can do?

    I understood what you wrote, but I'm too baka to write a proper comment about it. >.> I'm sorry. ^^'

    Although I do remember that when Vista was first introduced, Windows said that they won't support the older versions after 7 years. And then they said 5 years... Hasn't it only been about 2 years since Vista came out? I thought they'd have to support XP for at least 3 more years...

    AVG used to be a pretty good anti-virus, and they have a free version which I've been using. They update pretty much every day which is nice, and I've not had any detection issues with it. Thing is, I'm on borrowed time with it right now cause they don't have a Service Pack 1 compatible program anymore, and they're not going to support the last version that works in SP1 after the end of the year (no more virus definition updates). What the the difference between Service Pack 1 and 2 is I don't know, but I'm running into a lot of programs that don't want to work with my system anymore. I can't upgrade to Service Pack 2, I did once before and had to downgrade back from it because stuff other people use on the computer don't work in SP2.

    There's freeware? >.> My dad bought me my anti-virus last year, so I just renewed it this year. Shopping around for something cheaper didn't even occur to me. ^^' Mainly coz I thought he'd buy it for me this year too. >.>

    That sucks that they aren't compatible with XP. DX XP really isn't that old. ;_; Damn lazy bastards. x_x

    Yeah, that sounds familiar, only in my case I don't have the activation Keys (I use freeware solutions when possible), and I'm working with an older system so I get a lot of "We're too lazy [or dense] to make this work for your ancient Windows XP version" errors. Needless to say, there are a few companies I used to recommend but don't anymore.
