Falling asleep beside Lux made me feel safe from the world, made me feel better about myself, and that the ugly duckling wasn’t ugly at all. It just blossomed later in life, and that was all that it took. I felt better about everything, but when I blinked and realized I was a puppet, a marionette on strings in my dream, I found it that was that every Banette was a thrown away doll, searching for what they wanted. But what was that to define me? I may be a Banette, and yes, I was still looking for the person that threw me away, but it didn’t mean that I was thrown away anymore. I was found.
I wiggled the chains, wondering why I was chained up, but then I realized they were strings and that somebody was somebody in front of me was controlling the piece of wood controlling the strings of the puppet but all I did was erase those things from my hands and feet and neck and it dropped me to the black flooring below me. I erased the person in front of me and held the stick in hand. I controlled my strings now. But why? That’s right… I remember now…
I then heard purring. I woke up to purring. My eyes blinked open to sunlight and to Lux’s tail in my face so I opened up my mouth and bit down on it.
“YOWWW!!” Lux increased his height of his jump by at least a few feet and almost hit the ceiling until he fell back onto the bed with tears in his eyes and I covered my mouth to hide my smile and laugh but I must’ve let out something because Lux’s eyes darted to me and a small tear ran down his face.
“WHY GHOSTY? WHY DID YOU BITE MY TAIL?!!” Lux cried out and I still kept my hand over my mouth until he just ended up whimpering and I lost my funny in the situation and took his tail and used some darkness around me and circled it around his tail and slowly healed it and Lux still looked at me crazy and I just rolled my eyes.
“Time to wake up, blue kitty,” I giggled as I waved his tail in front of his face and he just frowned and threw a pillow at me and I just laughed, saw Lux’s and my clothes on a chair near the door so I got up from the bed and grabbed them and when to the bathroom to spare Lux of more humiliation. I don’t think he could honestly take anymore, which I couldn’t help but smile at that.
Once I slipped on my clothes, I looked at myself in the mirror. I really wasn’t used to my bangs cut, nor was I used to see my blood red eyes or my actual lip piercing that was a zipper. Gosh, my whole outfit was zippers… I wonder how Arc would react…
There was a knock on the door and Lux came in with his outfit on and his hands covering his eyes.
“Can I come in?” Lux asked and I scoffed.
“Lux, you’re fine, dum-dum,” I laughed and he peeked through his fingers and smiled.
“Well, you just had to bite on my tail, Ghosty,” Lux frowned and I snickered and flicked his ear and it moved a little and twitched, which I just smiled by. I still couldn’t believe Lux had sung to me… I really couldn’t believe it… And got me a swan stuffed animal included… Lux was really just a big sweetheart on the inside, even if he did have a temper.
“Well, it was in my face!” I laughed and Lux stuck out his tongue and I then remembered I had to shower and get ready. It was about noon anyways and the festival was today… Right…
So then I just pushed Lux out of the bathroom and he just looked at me weirdly.
“What? I need to get ready, Lux,” I told her as I stuck out my tongue and slammed the door in his face before he said anything, so I locked the door, got undressed and quickly got into the shower. Once I finished up, I got into my outfit and thought about tonight. I wondered what would happen tonight… I knew Shift would return and see how badly he could hurt me, probably kill me if he got the chance, but I wasn’t going to let that happen. Besides, he’s not the only one that’s trained over the years…
Once I got back into my outfit and brushed out my hair, a thought occurred to me that I wondered if Arc would like my outfit. Knowing him, he would… I also couldn’t believe I blurted out to Lux about kissing Arc… God that was embarrassing, but I guess since Lux is my best friend, I can let him know everything, or at least, most of everything… But I wondered about him, what he hasn’t told me… I guess I would ask that question later…
Once I blow dried my hair and brushed it completely out, I heard laughter going on outside the bathroom and wondered why Lux was laughing, so I popped my head out and saw Cedric playing with Lux, who had Cedric on his lap and Cedric trying to grab his ears and Lux laughing at Cedric trying. I couldn’t help but giggle and that’s when Cedric looked up and ran over to me.
“Ghosty!” He laughed as he hugged me and I picked him up with a grunt and put him on my arm and looked at him. “How are you?” Cedric asked and I couldn’t help but smile.
“I’m really good,” I told him as I flicked his nose and he giggled. “What about you? I saw you playing with blue kitty,” I told him and he smiled and jumped down from my arms and went back over to Lux.
“Yep! You wanna play with us?” I couldn’t help but wonder when the last time I was really asked that, besides from Cedric, and realized it was long ago, but thing was, I didn’t need to think about the past. I just needed to think about the future right now…
“Sure!” I told Cedric and for a few hours, at least until it was five o’clock, we played with his new stuffed animal and mine, and Lux made a pretend one out of his bitten tail. I had to admit, Lux had an interesting imagination, but it was cute. Once it got to five, his mom stood up from where she was watching and came and picked up Cedric, who was yawning and wanting food.
“Well Cedric, this is the last time I’m going to see you for a while, so you just wait for me, all right, little buddy?” Lux said with a smile and thumbs up and Lux whined a little bit and what was surprising was that Cedric both pulled us into a hug while he cried.
“I d-don’t want you to leave, blue kitty! I don’t want you to leave either, Ghosty! Please don’t leave,” Cedric cried and both Lux and I hugged him back and I couldn’t help it but get a little teary-eyed. I would really miss Cedric.
“Well, Cedric, you have to be brave, just like the lion I gave you, alright? I’ll come and visit you here every weekend, okay? We both promise,” Lux said with a smile as he let go of Cedric and gave him a big thumbs up. I knew behind that cat face, he was really upset, or at least, just upset in general. He just wouldn’t show it. Nice way for being brave, Lux.
“O-Okay. I’ll see you both in a week, okay, Blue Kitty and Ghosty?” Cedric asked as his mom walked him towards the door and we both nodded and Cedric left and I stood up and stretched, which was what Lux did afterwards also.
“I’m going to miss him… And don’t deny that you are too, blue kitty,” I looked at Lux with a slight glare and he just chuckled nervously but mostly shrugged it off.
“Yeah, I am going to miss him. No need to give me the death glare, Shupple,” Lux told me with a smile. “Especially with these new good looks of mine!” I rolled my eyes and we both straightened up the room and left. I helped Lux check out of the hospital, which took another hour, and once we finally got out of there, we left the building and walked into the festival automatically, with people in Uxie, Mesprit, and Azlef costumes and running out with cotton candy. I couldn’t help but feel like a little girl again, seeing all of these things. I was just glad I still had the bag that had the swan stuffed animal in hand...
“So, where to first, Ghosty?” Lux asked me with a smile and I shrugged with a smile.
“How about we try to find our friends back at the mansion?” I asked Lux and to be honest, that seemed like the last thing on his mind, but all he did was shrug and nod. “We could find Hoom in her kimono…” I trailed off and that made Lux’s eyes lit up automatically.
“Yes, let’s find my Hoomy!” Lux sped off and I laughed and ran to catch up with him and once I did, I noticed some very long hair not far off.
“Hang on,” I told Lux as I started to walk off and I could feel him following as I headed over to the long, braided black hair I saw loped over a shoulder. That had to be Tanner.
Once I got over to him, I automatically hugged him from behind and he automatically turned around from where he was standing and smiled and picked me up.
“Hey, sis! How are you?” Tanner said with a smile and I giggled, kissed him on the cheek and he let me down and he looked at Lux. “And this must be the infamous Lux! How are ya, dude?” Tanner asked with a smile as he held out a hand and Lux firmly shook it.
“Pretty good! I’ve been taking care of your sister, I’ll tell you that!” Lux chuckled and that’s when he sniffed the air and his ears went up straight. “Well, Ghosty, guess what I smell! Could it be a dog?” Lux smiled and he turned around and pointed out Arc, who was wandering around, I think trying to find me.
I immediately ran over to him and tapped him on the shoulder since he was looking the other way and he turned around and his eyes immediately darted to my outfit.
“Z-Zippers…” Arc muttered as he took one of the zippers, which was on my chest, and started to move it up and down and I frowned and poked him on the nose.
“Apparently, you like zippers,” I said blankly and he just chuckled nervously and let go of the zippers and that’s when Lux and Tanner came over and both of them smiled. I just rolled my eyes.
“So, Tanner, who’s your date?” I asked and he smiled.
“Estelle. You know her?” Instead of answering, my eyes immediately darted to Lux but he just seemed unresponsive and ignored the comment entirely. Is that what he really felt for Estelle?
“Yeah, I know her. Where is she?” I asked calmly and Tanner looked around and pointed off towards a light pole, where she was talking to Gil.
“Just talking to Gil. Thought I would leave them alone for a bit to talk,” Tanner shrugged and I just nodded and that’s when I felt Arc’s hand slip in between mine and I smiled and turned to Lux, who was going over to another area, where I saw Hoom.
Well, it seemed like most of the people were here already from the mansion… but I really wondered how Lux would deal with Estelle…

Well, I got Lux and Shupple to the festival!!! Hope that I got everybody right and that everybody liked it ;D
