~*~ Oh gosh… "orz I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this post. I’d wanted to get started on the weekend but this php project took me 5 days with very little sleep to complete in time for the extended due date. ""OTZ~ But yes, gotta do Raine’s part now. Don’t even know what I’m gonna do because my brain is so fried and I’m sleepy, but I’ll figure it out ~*~
In this post: Raine, Xio, Fresia, Shola, Trans-Aberius
Raine
I looked at Aberius sleeping soundly. He looked to be in less pain than he was when I came. That’s a relief… Without thinking much, I reached over and brushed some hair from his face. It was soft and fluffy. I wonder if I can really do it. He’s supposed to become really strong after he transforms… I reached into a pocket and pulled out a small purple velvet bag. Inside that bag was a crystal that had been rumored to cleanse and purify blood. I had been told it is called “Elemia’s Tear.” I clenched the bag in my hand and placed it back into my pocket. Why do we have to do it this way…? Does he have to suffer before we can help him…?
Before I knew it, I had drifted off to sleep. I only found this out when I was awakened by a loud yell. I looked around the room trying to grasp my bearings. I saw Aberius sitting next to me and realized I had been sleeping in the same bed as he. My face flushed. I… I must’ve been so tired that I fell asleep without noticing where I was… Suddenly, I noticed the range of emotions flowing through the room. Aberius… he was losing control? The blood rushed from my face.
“Aberius-san!?” I shouted. “What’s wrong? Is it hurting again? What can I do?” I wish I could stop it before it happens… He’s in so much pain…! I felt utterly helpless as Aberius panted and cried out.
“Raine!” he cried, reaching for me. I grasped his hand and looked at him, my heart tearing in two from all the suffering he was going through. I could feel what he was feeling right now and it felt so lonely and frightening. “N-No…! Raine, run! Get out of here!”
I shook my head frantically and stared back at him, determinedly, “No! I can’t leave!”
“GRARGH!” Aberius growled out as he pushed me to the floor.
I cried out as I hit the surface. I looked up at him, “Aberius-san…?” But I could sense that he was no longer himself… He had been taken over by the Curse of Remnis…
“Yes, little girl?” he said, looking down at me.
“Are you…?” I began, shaking because I could sense the swirling and growing darkness within him, “Are you alright…?”
“Why of course, dear. I feel better than I have in ages,” he said, smirking. “Hm it seems I’m not fully awakened though… Perhaps we should go for a walk, hm?”
He walked over to the door and, after talking aloud in a conversation with what seemed like himself, he pulled the bars off the door without any effort and kicked the door down. He was smiling like he enjoyed it, but I knew “he” wasn’t really him anymore. He walked out into the hallways.
“Please stop!” I called after him. I felt so helpless… I knew he was going to become even worse, yet… All I could do was weakly cry…
He ignored me and continued to walk through the hallways. I followed closely behind, monitoring fluctuations in his emotional wavelengths. Despite the fact that he wasn’t himself, the real Aberius seemed to be fighting to maintain, but his wavelength was very faint and fading in and out. We reached the kitchen and Aberius began eating everything he could find in the kitchen. I watched in awe and worry as he practically swallowed a whole loaf of bread. I could tell he didn’t feel satisfied. He open the freezer and pulled out a few roasts, biting into one of them, then grimacing.
“You girl!” Aberius yelled, pointing at me, causing me to jump. He frowned and continued, “Come outside, quickly!” I quickly followed and sensed he was annoyed.
We were outside when Aberius ordered me to start a fire. All I could do was comply… I set up the roasts on sticks once the fire was high enough. Aberius didn’t wait too long after they were thawed before he grabbed them and ate them voraciously. I sat there and monitored him closely. The more he ate, the farther away his original self became. As he finished the last bit of roast, I couldn’t sense Aberius anymore… just the darker side. He wiped his mouth, then turned to me and grinned. He got up quickly, walked over to me and grasped my wrist. Pulling me up from the ground, he slammed me against a nearby tree, causing me to yelp.
“Well, aren’t you cute…? Just like a little toy, hehe…” he said as leaned in close and breathed in. “It has been far too long since I have been with a woman…” He trailed his tongue along my ear and I could feel my face heating up. Feeling uncomfortable, I tried to push him away. He didn’t budge. “So you do have the ability to protest?” he said, then grinned wider, “That only makes things more enjoyable for me.” I couldn’t say anything… I could only stare.
I felt more and more ill at ease, trying to push him away, still. He then grasped my face and pressed his lips roughly against mine. My eyes shot open as my mind flashed back to that night with Lynex… I shook because this feeling was just like then… He pulled away slightly and was looking me up and down, his hands traveling as well. “How disappointing that you lack a chest…” My face turned red, and tried harder to push him away. Not only did I feel uncomfortable, but now I was embarrassed and humiliated… Without asking, he placed a hand on my chest. “Oh? They are small, but quite soft… Tell me, am I making you feel good, yet…?” He squeezed and I whimpered.
“St-Stop…” I cried. This doesn’t… I don’t… I could feel hot tears welling in my eyes.
“Now why would I do that when you are enjoying it so much…?” He continued to knead his hands on me and leaned in again, inhaling. I could sense a jolt of pleasure running through him… I was beginning to get our wavelengths mixed up and couldn’t tell if it was really him, or… “You should relax and enjoy it. While I must say, you lack no softness anywhere. Will you become my personal pillow for now, hm?”
He began to reach for the bow behind my neck which kept my shirt in place. Out of fear and without thinking, I shouted, “MAGICAL LEAF!”
Aberius was sent flying and crashed into a tree. He was shocked for a second and then his shock turned to anger, “Gragh! You insolent BITCH!” Before I could see what happened, I was pinned against a tree by my throat. I coughed, trying to breathe for air. “I thought I would be a bit merciful since I was celebrating my imminent revival, but you are testing my patience! Should I just kill you?!” He suddenly looked at my shoulder and I realized there was a stinging. There was blood trickling from it… I must’ve gotten scratched when I blew him away. “Well, I suppose if you want to offer me a drink, why should I refuse?” he said and he leaned over and licked the blood away. I could sense he got a bit stronger, but he didn’t seem satisfied. His attention turned elsewhere and he tossed me to the ground as he ran off in the direction of the mansion.
I sat up and winced, feeling a pain in my arm. It had been banged a few times when Aberius attacked me. I needed to find him again. I stood up and stumbled a bit, another pain coming from my leg, which somehow was bruised. I made my way in the direction of the mansion after him. He was getting farther and farther away and I was still a ways behind. Feeling another sharp pain, I fell to the ground. No sooner than I had that someone was running towards me.
“Hey!” called a Sharpedo girl “Are you okay?! I saw a bit of what happened earlier.” She placed a towel on my bleeding shoulder.
“Th-Thank you…” I said. “It was Aberius… He was acting strange and he…”
“Yeah, I saw it,” she cut me off. She seemed impatient, as if she did not want to hear much. “Do you know where he went?” I tried to figure out where he was, but he went out of range and I couldn’t find him as quickly. I shook my head. “We should probably get you something better than a towel for your neck. Let’s go inside.”
She helped me up from the ground. We walked back toward the mansion, but as we were getting there, we bumped into another gijinka coming out from the mansion.
“Oh my, I am so sorry,” she said. It was a Froslass gijinka. She bowed slightly, “Something was bothering me and I was not paying attention to where I…” she looked at the blood-stained towel on my shoulder and gasped. “OH! Goodness are you alright?”
I nodded. It hurt a little, but I had something more important to deal with, “I’m okay…. Um…” I turned to the Sharpedo girl, “on second thought, I think I will let it heal on its own…”
She did a double-take, “What?! Are you crazy…?! You need to get it looked at, or at least wrapped…”
She stopped talking because I had begun using Healing Wave on myself and the wound was disappearing, “I’ll be okay. It’s almost gone.” I smiled slightly. The Sharpedo wrinkled her nose at me, slightly annoyed. “Excuse, me, but I remembered that there was something I left in the forest…”
I ran off in the opposite direction, stopping my use of Healing Wave without letting it fully heal. I had an idea of how to get Aberius away from the mansion so he doesn’t cause much harm. It was a risky idea, but I did not have many options. I continued to run as far from the mansion as I could, but not in the direction of the city so they wouldn’t become involved. It had taken me too much time to get there, but I had to save my energy for what I was about to do instead of Teleporting.
I knelt down to the ground, picking up the sharpest rock I could find. Placing it near my shoulder wound, I shut my eyes as I stabbed down to open the wound further. I winced at the pain, but tried to ignore it as I focused my mind on finding Aberius’ wavelength. It didn’t take long as he had grown even more powerful… He didn’t even have control over himself anymore and had turned into a monster. Shaking violently, I tried to push past the fear. I swallowed a lump in my throat and channeled his dark wavelength into my own. The power was almost too much to bear and I fell to my knees. I had to stay conscious and I continued to filter the dark energy through me… Soon, I could see the blood trickling from my shoulder had turned into a deep purple-black color, indicating that the darkness had permeated my blood. Now that I had infused the darkness into myself, I had to maintain just like that… until he came to find me…
I had been sitting there for about 15 minutes, losing blood, but the darkness kept it from flowing too much because it thickened the liquid. Is this what Aberius had felt like before? My eyes burned and so did my throat… My veins felt like acid was flowing through them. Just when I was beginning to lose it, I felt power coming towards me… The ground shook and I could hear trees falling from the direction of the immense power.
Soon, I saw him… He didn’t look like himself anymore. He looked as if he were an enlarged version of his Pokémon form. His eyes were completely red, his fangs were protruding from his mouth as drool and blood dripped from them. He was as muscular as a bull and bigger than a rhino. The aura around him was swirling and violent and dark. He wagged his head back and forth as his tongue lolled out of his mouth. His claws dug into the ground and he lunged for me. I jumped out of the way, his teeth barely missing me, but slashing my arm from the sheer force of his lunge. I cried out in pain, but held my ground. My body was beaten and exhausted, but I was not about to fall… If I failed, then many people could very well die… I need to draw blood from him to weaken him…
I looked at the rock in my hand, but no sooner than I looked up, Aberius had lunged toward me again, knocking me down to the ground and pinning both my arms. I heard a loud crunch in my left elbow and I heard a blood-curdling scream… It took me a moment to realize that the scream had come from me. I had never been in a real battle before… Only the training sessions that Kitty-sama had put me through. I was told by Alegra, the Lugia that traveled with her, that she actually took the training a lot easier on me than she had with Aberius. Now I wished that maybe she had been harsher on me, because it looked like it hadn’t been enough. I was about to die… I saw Aberius raising his right claw and was about to behead me…
Then I saw him fly off me and through several trees. I thought maybe my loss of blood was causing me delirium, or maybe it was wishful thinking before death. But I heard a voice come from behind me.
“Tsk tsk… Beasts never know how to treat a lady…” came a male voice. I looked up to see a male Luxray standing there, dusting off his sleeves. For a moment, I thought Lux came to rescue me, but it wasn’t him… It was a different Luxray that I hadn’t met before. He looked down at me, “Are you alright?”
I nodded and he reached down and helped me up by my good arm, but my left arm fell against my side and I let out a yelp and stumbled. The Luxray caught and steadied me. I felt annoyance and belittlement from his emotions.
“Why would you think you could take on something like that?” he asked me.
I looked at him and answered honestly. There was no point in lying about it, now, “Because I’m the only one here who knows how to get him to stop…”
He looked at me for a moment, “Without killing him? He looks pretty far gone to me.”
I reached in my pocket with my good arm and pulled out the crystal I had looked at earlier, “This crystal… It has the ability to purify his blood. But I have to stab it into his heart… and it has to stay there until all of the dark energy is drawn out…”
“…” he looked at me again for a few moments, “and that won’t kill him…?”
“He…” I began, “will be very close to death… But that’s why I have to… I have to heal him before that happens…”
I thought I heard the Luxray scoff for a moment, “You look like you’re pretty close to death yourself… Why not just kill him?”
For one of the first times in my life, I felt annoyance about someone else. “Because…” I said, “It’s my mission…”
He stood there looking at me, then exhaled and grinned. “Alright,” he said, and took a step forward, as Aberius was coming back through the trees. “I will restrain him and you can stab the hell out of him or whatever it is you need to do. I find this fairly interesting, at least.” He readied himself, “I’m Xio. Just thought you should remember the name, because I think you’ll owe me after this...”
I felt completely in awe at the fact that he was making an introduction in this situation, but I stepped out of the way and simply said, “Raine.”
He smirked and the two of them lunged toward each other. They were moving so fast, I could barely catch what was going on between the two of them. Aberius viciously tried to draw blood from Xio, and managed to get his teeth into Xio’s leg, but it was not too long before Xio punched Aberius in the head, causing him to let go, then Xio kicked him into a tree. Aberius fell to the ground, but got back up. They had been fighting for 20 minutes, but Aberius didn’t seem like he was showing any signs of fatigue.
“Heh,” Xio said as he dodged another one of Aberius’ lunges. “I can see why you said just beating the crap out of him wouldn’t work… He’s just a dumb animal now with nothing but a thirst for blood. But I supposed it’s time to stop playing around…”
As Aberius was running toward him, Xio lifted his leg back and wound leg his around in a powerhouse kick to Aberius’ front left leg. A loud crack was heard and Aberius went down, yowling in pain and growling in rage. “An arm for an arm, right beast?” Xio said to him. He bit Xio in the leg and Xio once again punched him in the head. He walked over and stomped on his other front leg, it cracking as well. Xio was about to do more damage, but I couldn’t take anymore.
“Please stop!” I shouted. “He’s weak enough to restrain! We need to change him back!”
Xio looked at me then back down at Aberius who was flailing his hind legs and head trying to tear at Xio. He lifted Aberius up and held him by his broken front legs and faced him towards me. “Do what you have to,” he said.
Reluctantly, I grasped Elemia’s tear in my hand and stepped forward to Aberius who was still trying desperately to break free and kill someone. I’m sorry, Aberius-san… I thought as I lunged the crystal into his heart. He wailed in a heart wrenching cry and struggled more, tossing Xio around some, but he managed to keep his hold on Aberius. I could see the crystal glowing and drawing the darkness into it. I could feel Aberius’ suffering.
Unable to bear the pain, I used Calm Mind on him. He stopped thrashing around, but his body was still twitching and his red eyes were wide in pain. Even though it managed to subdue him, he was still suffering as the darkness was being pulled apart from him.
{R…R…R…Raine…} I heard a reverberating voice. My eyes widened. It sounded like… Aberius-san…?!
{Raine… It hurts…} he said. How was I able to hear him…? Was this what they called Telepathy? I answered back to him. I know… I’m so sorry, but you’ll be back to normal soon… I could feel tears in my eyes at the fear and loneliness coming from him.
{I can’t… feel anything… Everything’s… fading… Where…?}
The last bits of darkness trickled into the crystal and Aberius fell to the ground. I collapsed in front of him as well, but I had one more thing to do before I lost consciousness…
“Heal Pulse…” I said and let the energy flow from me to the area around me. I could sense Aberius and Xio both healing. He didn’t need much, but I laid there for 10 minutes healing until everything went black…
Please… let everything have made a difference…
