Aberius
I had spent a majority of the day writhing in pain, trying to fend off the urges that were stabbing at me. My throat felt as though I’d swallowed hot sand. I tried drinking water and eating apples, but they only helped for short amounts of time before the burning came back. I should have known better that there was only one thing that would quench my thirst, but I wasn’t about to fall. The longer I resisted, the better chance there was I could get through. However, not a year has passed where I didn’t succumb. But then, I had Master with me to stop me from going too far.
As I sat there, my mind trailed back to the old legend from our village…
Legend tells that there was once an evil being hiding in the darkness… He was known as the Demon Panther, Remnis. His size was rumored to be that of a mountain. His eyes were blood red and his tail was long and hooked. His sole desire was to drown the world in darkness and destruction. He craved blood more than anything else, especially the blood of the innocent. In the neighboring country, there was a deity called Elemia. She was a five-tailed dog spirit with a glistening silver coat. Each of her five tails controlled a different element, which when brought together could cause massive earthquakes. However, Elemia was a gentle being and lived in harmony with humankind. Remnis coveted her and in the dead of night stole her away to his realm. He forced himself upon her so that she would bear him an heir. However, she managed to overpower him and seal him away deep in the Earth by causing an earthquake.
Elemia had decided, however, to bear the child, because it would still be hers. She would raise it to be good, regardless of the fact that its father was full of darkness. She believed that if she raised it well, then it would be able to control whatever influence tried to overtake it. The child was born. However it looked neither like Remnis nor Elemia. It had dark skin and was covered in white fur. Instead of having 5 tails, it had one blade like tail, the same color as its skin. There was a horn that protruded from its head that was so sharp, it could cut through a blade of grass and split it longwise twice. On its forehead was a murky blue jewel. When it opened its eyes, they were the same blood red color as Remnis’.
However, she had still planned to raise the child. She tried to get it to use elements like she could, but when it tried all the attacks came out as darkness. The young creature had an insatiable thirst for blood, just as Remnis had. When left unchecked, the child would ravage the village and attempt to devour the villagers. Her heart aching, Elemia still believed she could help the child to fight the impending darkness. However, the young one had consumed too much blood and turned its attack on its mother. Her life slowly ebbing away, Elemia cast a spell. She transferred her soul into the child to seal away the darkness. The young creature’s eyes were opened for the first time and it saw what disasters it had caused. When it took in the sight of its mother’s lifeless form, it despaired greatly. Then the creature vowed to use its powers only for good and atone for its sins.
That creature is rumored to be the first Absol. It is said that every Absol must fight the darkness within. To ensure that each Absol is able to continue a normal life, it is not fed any meat, nor must it taste blood in the first 5 years of its life. If it does, the darkness will grow and overtake the child. Some say that one day, a child that has tasted blood will become the reincarnation of Remnis himself, and lay waste to all around it.
I opened my eyes and looked at the clock on the table. It was 10:30 pm. I exhaled, wiping a little sweat from my forehead. All of a sudden, the wind was knocked out of me from something heavy that fell on me. I coughed and opened my eyes to see Raine’s large violet ones staring back at me. What the…?
“R-Raine?” I coughed again. “Wh… what are you doing here?”
“I-I teleported…” she fidgeted. Teleported? Did she come here just to see me, then…? Her face red and she looked at me with concern. “Aberius-san…? Do you feel alright?”
Even if she was concerned about me, there’s no real reason she needs to know. “I’m fine…” I said frankly.
“You don’t look fine… Here, I’ll get you some water…” she said, getting up and walking to the bathroom.
“You shouldn’t be here right now. It’s too dangerous…” I didn’t want to put anyone who wasn’t involved in danger, but it might’ve been too late for that just by my being here and not being careful enough to keep tabs on the timeline…
Raine came back out with a cup of water. My throat was very dry and felt as if I’d eaten a habañero pepper. “Danger? What do you mean?” she asked.
“It doesn’t matter what I mean, you just need to get out,” I barked. My throat was painfully dry and I felt as though I was starting to hear that inner voice again. You can fight it, but you will succumb just like all the other times… Only now your precious Master isn’t here to save you. In a short amount of time, you will give in to the darkness and quench your bloodlust. I’ll wear you down, just wait…
I want to rip my mind out of place to stop the torture. At that moment, I felt hands on each side of my head. I looked up and saw Raine close by with a determined look on her face. “What… are you…?” I began. She started to use a move on me, which was dispelling the dark thoughts that tried to surface. I started to feel a bit more at peace. Even the burning sensation in my throat seemed like it was easing. This was the first time I’d felt so much relief on an Ides’ Eve. She continued to use the move nonstop, not paying attention to how much energy she was using. After a while, she started to look like the expenditure was taking a toll on her, but she wasn’t easing up.
I grabbed her wrist, “You can stop now…” I said, “Don’t force yourself.”
“What?” she responded, seeming to come out of a trance. She instantly looked more tired without her focus. “I’m sorry…”
“Why should you be sorry?” I felt slightly annoyed that she was going to help me and then apologize for it. I didn’t say she’d done anything to be sorry for, but she really shouldn’t spend so much energy on me. I felt the burning coming back after she’d stopped using her ability. Even though it hurt again, I was grateful for her ability to relieve me of the torture if only for a moment.
“I’ll just get you some more water, then,” she said standing up.
Without thinking, I’d grasped her wrist to prevent her from getting too far away, “Don’t, it won’t help much, anyway…”
She looked disappointed for a moment, but nodded, “At least get some rest for now.”
“Yeah,” I agreed. The only reason I wasn’t able to sleep was because I’d felt so uneasy about tomorrow. But now I felt a bit more like I’d be okay. At the very least, I wasn’t alone at the moment. Despite her being someone I barely knew, she brought a comfort to me… I couldn’t quite explain why I felt so relaxed with her around. I got up into bed with Raine supporting me and she covered me with the blanket. I grasped her wrist again, not really paying much attention to what I was saying, “Stay right here tonight… please…” I felt if she got too far away, I’d be left all alone with the darkness again.
Her pink cheeks turned even pinker, but she looked me straight in the eye and said, “I won’t go anywhere.” I felt better just hearing those words and drifted into sleep.
~*~Several Hours Later: 7 am~*~
I awoke and saw a sliver of sunlight shining in through the window. I looked to my right and saw Raine’s sleeping face right next to me. My heart skipped a beat for a moment. I thought she was shyer than this…
“Raine…” the word slipped from my lips. I sat up and all of a sudden everything in my body pulsated. “ARGH…!”
Raine shot up next to me looking around in a panic. At first she seemed to be blushing, but when she looked at me, her face seemed to drain of all color. “Aberius-san!?” she shouted. “What’s wrong? Is it hurting again? What can I do?”
“R… Raine…!” I struggled, reaching out to her. I could feel my consciousness fading in and out. My vision was blurring and my blood felt like it was boiling. Raine grasped my hand and from what I could tell, there were tears in her eyes. Why is she crying…? She doesn’t know… Does she think I have a fever? Would she cry over something so trivial like that? I was beginning to lose control over my thoughts and my body. “N-No…! Raine, run! Get out of here!” I groaned, holding my head. The pounding was getting unbearable.
“No! I can’t leave!” she yelled in despair.
“GRAAARGH!” I yelled and shoved her to the floor. I was no longer able to fight it off…
“Ahh!” she yelped as she hit the ground. She looked up at me with those large eyes. Oh how I wanted to see her cry in agony right then. “Aberius-san…?”
“Yes, little girl…?” my voice was no longer my own, but darker, deeper and more sinister. I felt as though I was watching from the same viewpoint, but it wasn’t me doing anything anymore. I was locked away inside my own body.
“Are you…? Are you alright…?” she sat there shaking. Oh how frail she looked. How I wanted nothing more than to break her… to violate her in the worst way.
I grinned, “Why of course, dear. I feel better than I have in ages.” Grargh! I have to continue fighting these impulses…! I can’t… let it… “Hm it seems I’m not fully awakened though… Perhaps we should go for a walk, hm?
I walked towards the door which was covered in bars. I scoffed at such a half-assed attempt to contain myself. “Come now, me can’t you do better than that?” I firmly grasped the bars in one hand and ripped them from their setting. The whole time, Raine was watching, mouth agape. I grinned widely and kicked down the door. Oh come on! That wasn’t even locked! Was that even necessary?! “Shut up. I’m having a small amount of fun, since at the moment you don’t want to release your weak little claws from me. You thought you’d weaken me by avoiding what should be your given right? You should’ve spent more time training to become stronger.”
I walked out the door and down the hallways. Raine came running out of the room behind me with a worried expression on her face. “Please, stop!” she begged. Yes, beg, plead and suffer. Nothing’s more of a turn-on than a woman in agony. But, oh, this was merely only a fraction… she was unfortunate to be the first one I saw. But first, I need to build my strength.
I had reached the kitchen before long. I walked over to the refrigerator and pulled the door off its hinges. Eating everything I could find in there, yet not entirely getting one of the things I really craved… I looked at the freezer and opened it. Inside were three roasts. I gathered them and removed them from their packaging. Biting into one, I didn’t make much headway. “Grrr, useless…” Of course it’s useless, I can’t believe you don’t know about cooking frozen meat… “Of course I know, insolent whelp. But I am in much hurry, here… I suppose I have no choice. You girl!” I pointed at Raine. She jumped and yelped. Honestly this girl must be stupid. Can’t she sense how much danger she is in? No matter to me… “Come outside… quickly!”
She surprisingly followed along. Tch… a little too obedient now... What is she to you, anyway I don’t know her well… but I’ll be damned if you lay a finger on her! Ha! It won’t matter once I devour this meat, your control will break over me completely.
I wound up outside and ordered Raine to start a fire. While I could have done it by myself, I figured I would put her to use. Before long, the meat was thawed enough to be eaten. I didn’t dare let it cook too long in case it lost that rare flavor. I stared curiously at Raine. While she seemed to be quite scared, she simply sat there and watched as I ate the roasts. Her eyes seemed to let on that she knew something, but she did nothing. Was this yet another creature that gives up when it knows it’s in danger? I could feel my muscles pulsing with power as I devoured the last roast. Hmph… cow meat is not nearly as satisfying as human meat, but I still have to get through these stupid loopholes in order to break free…
I grinned widely and turned to Raine. I grasp her wrist tightly, pulled her up from the ground and pushed her up against a tree. She squeaked as the impact hit.
“Well, aren’t you cute…? Just like a little toy, hehe…” I inhaled her fragrance and savored it. “It has been far too long since I have been with a woman…”
Raine stood there shaking as I trailed my tongue along her ear. She placed her hands on my chest and tried to push me away, though failing. “So you do have the ability to protest? That only makes things more enjoyable for me.” I bared my fangs in a smile and she just stared at me like a Stantler caught in the headlights.
She was still trying to push me away, but I roughly grabbed her face and pressed my lips firmly against hers. They tasted quite sweet. Pulling away I took a chance to explore her body. I was disappointed that she had such small breasts. “How disappointing that you lack a chest…” Raine blushed and continued to push at me. I placed a hand on her right breast anyway. “Oh? They are small, but quite soft… Tell me, am I making you feel good, yet…?” I kneaded her breast and she whimpered.
“St-Stop…” she looked like she was about to cry, but her moans and whimpers told me I was doing my job.
“Now why would I do that when you are enjoying it so much…?” I inhaled her scent again… it smelled like fear and pleasure. “You should relax and enjoy it. While I must say, you lack no softness anywhere. Will you become my personal pillow for now, hm?”
Raine continued to cry and I was about to untie the ribbon behind her neck when all of a sudden I heard her shout, “MAGICAL LEAF!!”
I was thrown back, not expecting the attack and hit a tree. “Gragh! You insolent BITCH!” I rushed over and pinned her to the tree with my claw clamped around her neck. “I thought I would be a bit merciful since I was celebrating my imminent revival, but you are testing my patience! Should I just kill you?!” I looked at her shoulder and noticed there was blood trickling from it. My irritation at her attempt at resistance was replaced with a sudden thirst. “Well, I suppose if you want to offer me a drink, why should I refuse?” I trailed my tongue along her shoulder, lapping up the blood. I could feel more power coursing through me. It wasn’t enough, though… Tch… I should’ve known this girl didn’t have enough to satisfy me… But wait… I sniffed the air and smelled an intoxicating aroma. Sweet… yet spicy…
Tossing Raine aside, I ran in the direction of the delicious aroma. It was blood, yes, but it was laced with the most delectable brand of darkness I’d ever encountered. It was seducing me and beckoning to me. Soon, I found myself outside a wall. The smell seemed to be coming from a window on the second floor. I leaped up and through it into what appeared to be a female’s room laced with electricity.
“Aberius?” a voice came from behind me. I turned to face a young Pikachu girl sitting on the bed in nothing but a towel. Quite a service I get, here… The towel just barely covered her large breasts and looked as though it could fall off at any moment. I have to say, much better than the Ralts…
I smirked and walked over to the girl and her eyes followed me, her face reddening. I leaned over her, pushing her down on the bed. “So that delectable smell was coming from you, woman?”
“Wh-What…?” she said. Searching the recesses of my mind, I recalled her name was Rikku.
“Just be still. I won’t hurt you… much.” I pressed my lips against hers and she looked at me with shocked wide eyes, but seemed as though she was giving in. Her arms wrapped around my neck and I smirked. Also obedient, this woman, but at least where it counts…
I grasped her thigh firmly and pulled her to me. She gasped because she could probably feel that I was excited. “You realize, Rikku dear, that you’re driving me insane right now?”
Her face was red and she looked at me submissively, “Aberius, w-wait… I don’t think I…”
“But how can I when you smell so delicious? I could just devour you right now.” I grasped her breast in my left hand and squeezed. She moaned and flinched, turning away from me.
“A-Aberius…” there was a tear in her eye, but it didn’t seem to be from fear.
The smell from her was getting more and more intoxicating. “I can’t take it anymore… you’re driving me mad… I must have a taste…” I lowered my mouth to her neck and licked a small bit of skin. She shivered underneath me. “Now you may feel a slight pinch…”
I bit down into her neck and she gasped and squirmed underneath me. I savored the struggle as I began to lap up the blood. It was so unbelievably delicious that I kept drinking. Suddenly, I felt a pulsating.
“Wh-What…? This power… it’s unlike anything I’ve ever… RRRRAAAAGHHH!” I grasped my head and writhed, falling to the floor. I clutched at my throat… my chest… Everything was coursing… burning. But it felt good. I could feel an immense power.
In the background I could hear the girl calling my name. But nothing was of concern to me anymore… I only could think of one thing… My body only craved for one thing… Blood.
~*~(The story will switch to third-person, as now Aberius is no longer in control of his mind…)~*~
Rikku watched in horror as Aberius writhed on the floor. She tried to call to him, but he didn’t seem to hear her. He opened his eyes and they were completely red, now. His fangs and claws grew, and he seemed to be growing larger. His jacket ripped and part of his pants as he panted. His hair became wild and he began to get up. However, he wasn’t standing on two legs but on hands and feet. He looked like a wild animal. It was obvious he could no longer understand anything she said.
He turned and looked at her with wide, wild eyes. Baring his enlarged fangs, he leapt at Rikku, about to drain the rest of her blood. Rikku, without thinking, hit him with a Tail Whip, which sent him flying out the window. He crashed to the ground and stood up. Shaking the broken glass off, Aberius howled loudly and dashed off, looking for a victim to satisfy his bloodlust...
~*~ Okay, this is where I’ll end it. Now people can interact with Aberius. His secret is out, but how does this curse end? Only Raine knows. Aberius is no longer himself and will attack anyone he comes across. He’ll get stronger with each drop of blood he consumes which will only cause him to grow bigger and more beast-like.
