Raine
I followed along behind Gil. He looked very upset after what I'd told him. But I can understand why he would be... No one wants to think about someone they know dying... Suddenly, Gil stopped.
"Huh...?" I said as I, too, stopped, "I thought you said you were going to tell someone about this..."
"Raine..." Gil turned to me and spoke seriously, "I need to check on someone first so, can you go and tell somebody? But please, don’t tell anyone about Lux and the possibility of committing suicide; that is only going to create more chaos and that is what we least need."
"... But..." I felt worried about the Luxray. Even though he is very scary, he's also... not scary. I can't really describe it, but either way, I don't believe he should die... "what if we are late...?"
Gil placed his hand on my shoulder. I felt a small chill. "It’s going to be fine..." he said, smiling gently, "I’m going to check things up so for now, just do that... Can I count on you?"
He was relying on me for this... I barely knew this man, but for the first time, I looked a man in the eye and didn't feel afraid. His eyes said that he could be trusted. I thought about it just then... I've never looked a man in the eye since that time. Even if I had, my fear would take over, thinking they were all the same... Maybe I have been wrong...? I inhaled slowly, then nodded my head. Smiling one last time, he dashed off in another direction. I sighed. I have to tell someone, but who...? I thought that I should tell the Leader, but I was still somewhat reluctant after what happened last time. Surely she would take this situation seriously, though...?
I was walking, but not paying attention to where I was going and bumped into something firm.
"Eeep!" I yelped slightly, surprised. I should really pay more attention... but what is this scent...? I leaned in slightly still not fully aware of what I'd bumped into, but the fragrance of dirt and wood seemed appealing in a way. Then I heard a steady thump-thump. Huh...? That sounds like a... I then realized what I bumped into... I pulled my face back and looked up only to see a large pair of red eyes staring back at me... Uwah...!
"Ab-Aberius-san?!" I fumbled over my words. I was beginning to piece the facts together that I had bumped into him... What's more, I was practically burying my face in his... Oh my... I felt lightheaded... Looking at his face which was only a mere several inches away, I could see more of his features. The large jewel on his forehead... Aren't Absol jewels a sign of virility...? Gyaa! Why am I thinking of that now?!!?!?! I shook my head. He had a small nose... and his silver hair curved around his face. But what really drew me in were the red eyes... I felt as though they were hypnotizing me... I've never seen such an intense gaze before... Why is it...? My heart thumped a bit and I realized for the third time, I was staring.
"Sorry, um, Raine," Aberius spoke, "but I have to go find that stupid Luxray..."
He tried to step around me, but before I knew it, I'd grabbed a part of his jacket, "But that's just what... I need to tell someone! Lux... um... something wrong with him... I mean... I'm not supposed to say... and Gil left, so he's not here... That's what I was supposed to..." I was stumbling over my words... I knew he probably wasn't the person to tell, but I felt compelled to keep him there for a few seconds. Do I feel guilty about keeping that secret from him...?
"I think you might want to tell someone else... I'm going after him," Aberius said bluntly.
"B-But!" I just felt like he shouldn't go... He placed a hand on my shoulder. I felt a small shot of pain, but it wasn't my own...
"Don't worry," Aberius began speaking, "I'm sure maybe Lupe," I felt myself frown at the name... "or somethin would be the best one to let know whatever it is Gil wanted you to say." That's right... Gil entrusted me with a message. So I should follow through. "Then I'll be going..."
He began to leave again, but before he could, I grabbed his hand. Another shot of pain. Just as I thought. I felt a hint of annoyance as he turned around expecting me to speak. Not wanting to keep him much longer, I simply turned his hands over and began healing them. They looked red and torn up, but were beginning to return to their normal color as I expended what little energy I had left. I wanted to help in some small way, even if I'm not very strong. Something in this place made me feel more different than I'd ever felt... His hands were finally all repaired, "This is all I can do..." I said I could feel my energy leave me, and all of a sudden, things went black. I felt like I was floating for a moment, then I lost complete consciousness...
2 hours later...
I felt aware of myself again. I realized that I must've passed out after using so much of my energy. I slowly opened my eyes. I was inside the mansion. Someone must have brought me inside... was it Aberius-san?
"So, are you awake now?" a rough voice from my right side said. I turned to see a man I hadn't seen before. It was a Cherubi gijinka. He looked very irritated...
"U-Um, yes, I-"
"So you can take care of yourself now?" he said bluntly.
"Um, I guess so, but..."
"Great, later," he said, and began to walk off, mumbling something about a stupid absol dumping me off on him. Um... I think in situations like these, the term is... Ouch... I stood up shakily, feeling lightheaded from the blood rushing suddenly.
Intermission...
Sorry Guys, but I'm a little sleepy right now, so I'll continue this late in the morning... Ja ne *yawns*
Back to the story
Okay, it's time to come out of intermission X3 Sorry for the wait...
I wandered a bit not knowing what to do. OH NO! I realized that before I could fulfill my duty, I'd passed out! I was frantically running around when i bumped into something soft.
"Hey!" said a familiar voice. I looked up and saw Lupe looking down at me. She must've just come back inside. Even though I wasn't happy about what happened earlier, she's the Leader here and needed to know about things.
"U-Um... Lupe-san..." I spoke. "Lux ran off... Gil went after him to make sure he comes back. Lux is quite upset, so he might be gone for a while and take some convincing... Um..."
"Oh, is that what's going on?" Lupe said. "Stupid Lux is always causing trouble isn't he? Well, it's none of my concern because I hate him!"
After that, she patted my head quickly and walked off. I could sense a mixture of frustration with a little bit of worry going through her. I sighed, relieved that I'd managed to complete my task, even if it was a bit later than intended.
Suddenly, I heard voices. I peeked out from behind a pillar and saw two gijinka standing there. One was a female Pikachu and the other was... I gasped. Aberius was standing there... and he didn't have a shirt on! I felt my face flush. Why is he walking around without a shirt on?!?! I couldn't really make out what they were saying, but all of a sudden, the Pikachu girl started hugging Aberius-san and crying. I was surprised annd didn't know what to think... Then Aberius began stroking her hair and holding her tightly. I felt a twinge in my chest, but I couldn't understand what it meant... as I watched I felt warm liquid streaming down my face. I brought a hand to my cheek and pulled it away. ... Tears...? Why am I crying? I couldn't figure it out, but watching the two of them together made me feel really bad on the inside. Before I knew it, I was running through the mansion and outside. I felt like I needed to get away from there. Without thinking, I teleported, but it was a mistake to teleport without first concentrating on a destination. I felt my body being pulled and stretched through space and time and just when I felt my mind was going to snap, I rematerialized and fell onto something.
"Ooof!" I heard a voice. "What the...? Raine? What are you doing here...?"
I looked up to see a pair of crystal blue eyes looking back at me.
"Who is she?! Where did she come from all of a sudden?" I heard more voices all around me. I looked and saw a bbunch of female nurses crowded around, but they stepped back when I looked at them.
"Ah, I'm sorry ladies..." All of a sudden, the glaceon pulled me closer, "but she's with me. So could you give us some alone time?"
I felt my face heat up extremely. Wh-WHAT...?! Why on Earth was he holding me so tightly? Why do I feel so flustered?? And what did he mean by alone time???! The nurses all looked quite disappointed and some annoyed as they filed out of the small hallway elsewhere to handle their business...
"U-um.... G-Gil...?" I said. I felt very uncomfortable and confused...
"Yes?" he said, smiling back at me.
"C-Could you let me go...?" I avoided eye contact. My heart was pounding and I wondered if I was ill.
"I'm sorry, here..." he released his pressure on me and helped me up with one hand. He gestured to the seat next to him. Reluctantly, I sat down, hands folded and looking at the floor. I felt like if I looked at him then I would faint. Why, when I wsa able to look him in the eye earlier...? I don't understand what has been happening to me... Maybe one of the gijinka used Confusion on me?
Suddenly, Gil spoke up, "I have to thank you. You bailed me out of a very uncomfortable and irritating situation. Not meaning to be rude, but why are you here, though?"
"U-um... I didn't mean to come h-here... I was just... Um..." Why did I leave...? I shuffled my thumbs together, "I needed some fresh air, but I wasn't p-paying attention and used Teleport without focusing... Um... b-but I told Lupe... that Lux ran off and you were trying to talk him into c-coming back..."
"Fresh air? Are you alright?" he said, looking at me quizzically.
"I-I don't know... I'm very confused..." I shook my head. I scrunched up a little as I felt that strange twinge in my chest again. I felt on the verge of crying again...
"Hm... Well, thank you, Raine," Gil said as he stroked my hair, "You did as I asked, so don't feel sad. I'll stay here with you for a while in case you need anything. And if you feel sick, we're in a hospital, so someone can always help you."
I slowly turned my head and looked to see a gentle smile. I averted my eyes, feeling another strange feeling, but remembering that we were in a hospital, another more important thought came up.
"So... H-How is Lux-san...?" I said.
Gil pulled his hand away and smiled, "He's going to be okay. He's pretty messed up, but he seems like he's recovering quickly."
"Oh... th-that good to hear..." I felt relieved. Even though he was scary earlier, I was glad that he wasn't going to die.
Feeling overwhelmed from a bunch of different feelings, I felt myself slip back into the dreaming world. I was tipping over in Gil's direction, but I was tired and unable to stop myself from falling. But I felt so tired... so I think I'll just rest here for a small bit. I felt a pair of hands catch me, heard a faraway voice, and slipped into a sleep.
