Part of the reason for Rattata's Alolan form is because the Rattata of Alola had to become nocturnal and move to urban areas in order to avoid certain predators.

Honestly, the only Alolan form I can really get into right now is Rattata's. All the other ones are neat, but Rattata's is the only one I feel can make sense.

Well, all these Alonan variants seem to be going to Pokemon from the first generation games. So one weekend not too long ago I went through this old Pokemon Handbook I had and thought about what Pokemon from that generation would be most likely to get an Alola form.

So far, the only Alolan variant that's totally surprised me is Raichu.
