I echo your sentiments exactly. Misty's departure was the main reason why I won't watch the Pokemon anime anymore. Then again, I had a bit of trouble staying on top of the anime in the first place.
What's your opinion about Misty's Togepi? I noticed you didn't mention Togepi at all. Personally, I don't have the objection to Togepi as many Misty fans do. I'm actually pretty neutral on the subject.

I never objected to Misty's Togepi much either. Though I did keep waiting for it to evolve and show off its full power.
I did evolve when Misty appeared in the Hoenn saga, but it turned out to be a letdown.
The greatest fear is that of the unknown.
