Zankyou was not as good as expected but still pretty good. I think that would be a decent summary haha! I have no difficulties to give a bad rating to an anime (or anything, really), but it's also hard for me to really dislike something... Sometimes, I keep watching just so I can rate the anime properly, even if that means giving it a 4 xD
Oh, I loved GSNK as well, it was hilarious and not at all what I thought it would be! It's probably my favourite from this summer along with Free! ES... Then, I'll add Zankyou no Terror and maybe Aldnoah.Zero... I honestly still don't know how I feel about this one so I haven't made a post about it yet... OH! I forgot. There was Kuroshisuji: Book of Circus this summer as well. I really liked it, especially since it's my favourite arc from the manga.
Okay, one must take a decision. Nozaki-kun. Nozaki wins this fight, GSNK was my favourite anime this summer, it's the only one I gave a 10 on MAL and my Tumblr. Then, I almost want to say that my real fav was the third book of the Legend of Korra, but it's not an anime :p
I saw a lot of Barakamon but never got around watching it. So many animes, so little time...
Hm, maybe they are keeping the better anime out for the summer, because of the summer break then since they know that they will have a bigger audience... :)
Personally I am not too crazy either, but I really do respect his work and I do find it enjoyable I must say. Still haven't gotten around those, though there were so many times when I wanted to start Space Dandy. It seems like a fun and relaxing show. :D
I agree with you, I think that they tried to do too much with not enough time. Especially for an only one season show, it should have had 20+ episodes instead. Things were going great until Five appeared, then it felt... too fast-paced, maybe. Nevertheless, it didn't prevent me from enjoying it so I guess that's why I gave it such a good rating! I'm trying to be objective in my reviews buuuuut... I'm failing.
All things aside, what was your favourite anime this season?
This season did have some good animes! I feel like they're good during summer, but I hope this fall will be as good! So far though, there's only the second season of Psycho-Pass that I'm really waiting for...
I like his works though I am not a Watanabe stan, but I think I should. I wanted to watch Space Dandy and Sakamichi no Apollon as well since a friend recommended them (especially the second one), did you watch them?
Ahm, another good anime of this season. :)
Can't never get enough of Shinichiro Watanabe, partly for the reason that I like to see more unique and recognized styles by different artists and studios.
