Oneida Indian Nation Announces Largest Expansion Of Turningstone Resort Casino In 20 Years

The Oneida Indian Nation today announced the largest expansion and financial reinvestment plan at Turningstone Resort Casino over the past 20 years. The multi-year, large-scale project will almost double the resort's existing convention and conference space. To support the increase in convention guests, the expansion will include about 250 rooms in Turningstone, which is roughly the same size as a tower hotel, as well as new dining options, outdoor space, and additional amenities. These additions will help attract even more local and national events across the country, further increasing tourism to the area.

Turning Stone's expansion project will result in millions of dollars spent alongside local businesses and vendors. The Oneida Indian Nation has named Syracuse-based Hayner Hoyt as its general contractor and will also leverage the Central New York trade union to create hundreds of local construction jobs. The expansion will also support the continued growth of the Oneida Indian Nation's workforce, along with hundreds of new permanent jobs once completed. Over the past three decades, the Oneida Indian Nation has invested more than $1 billion in Central New York.

The multi-year expansion plan is already underway, and a breakthrough expansion is expected in 2023.

"As we embark on our largest reinvestment in 20 years, we start a new chapter for our businesses and ensure that we remain one of the premier events and tourism destinations in New York for decades to come," said Ray Halbritter, Oneida India Nation CEO and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO. "Today we are experiencing record demand to host conferences and other events at Turning Stone, which far exceeds our current hotels and convention facilities. This extensive, multi-year expansion project will help us meet this growing demand and even greater demand in the future. Our 30-year track record has demonstrated that investments like this are vital to sustaining the growth and success of our businesses and our entire region."

The Oneida India Nation selected architecture and design company Gensler as its development partner for this expansion. Gensler has 52 locations worldwide, serving more than 3,500 customers in almost every industry. Gensler has been the lead designer and architect of other major destinations, including Las Vegas' City Center, Washington's Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, and Walt Disney World's Swan Reserve, among many major resorts and convention centers around the world.

"Jensler is excited to partner with Oneida Indian Nation on the expansion of the Turning Stone Resort Casino," said Lester U.N., Jensler's design director. "This expansion will bring some game-changing features to this incredible property, and we are thrilled to add it to our portfolio of global hospitality and convention projects."

"As one of the largest employers and major contributors to the investment that brings millions of visitors to the heart of New York every year, the Oneida Indian Nation has been a decisive driver for the economic development of Oneida County," said Anthony Picente of Oneida County. "This latest investment in the Turning Stone Resort Casino, the largest in 20 years, expands this partnership and continues our joint goal of revitalizing Oneida County with the Nexus Center. We know that when the Oneida Indian Nation does well, the Oneida County will do well, and the expansion of Turning Stone will help grow this success while increasing tourism, new jobs, and more."

"The partnership between the Oneida Indian country and the town of Verona has been instrumental in our mutual growth and success," said Verona Village Supervisor Scott Musakio. "Recently, the partnership has helped provide water and sewer infrastructure for newly hired housing in the Oneida Indian country, an innovative approach to increasing affordable housing and increasing jobs within our communities. The expansion of Turning Stone will continue to invest significantly in our local economy and further establish Verona as a global destination for tourism, conventions, and more."

"At a time when many businesses are postponing or canceling investments, the Oneida Indian country is once again moving forward with the massive expansion of Turning Stone, which will create well-paying jobs for hundreds of its members and support the sustainable growth of our region," said Greg Lancet, president of Central/North Building Trading. "Our motto has always been that if the Oneida Indian country can dream of it, we can create it. We are honored to play a role in making these dreams a reality once again." 파워볼사이트
