Las Vegas Day Rodeo & Heldorado Parade is coming up

Las Vegas Day (formerly known as Heldorado Day), an annual cowboy-themed event celebrating a tribute to Las Vegas' western wilderness, will offer a brand-new Core Arena Friday-Saturday two-night rodeo event from May 10-11 and a Heldorado parade from May 11. The Las Vegas Centennial Commission and Plaza Hotel and Casino are sponsoring the rodeo event, and admission is free.

Marking its 85th anniversary, the Las Vegas Day Rodeo will be held from Friday to Saturday, May 10-11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., subject to full sanctions by the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association. The rodeo will feature bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, tie-down roping, steering wrestling, saddle bronze riding, and bareback riding, with winners receiving a total of $40,000 in prize money and custom belt buckles.

"It's great to see the Las Vegas Days rodeo hit 85 years," said George Taylor, CEO of PRCA. "We're delighted to welcome Las Vegas Days once again to its fold of 650 rodeos."

All community members are invited to participate in the Heldorado Parade for free, including schools, local businesses, car clubs, horseback riding groups, civic groups, and non-profit organizations. The 2019 Heldorado Parade will take place on Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m. in downtown Fourth Avenue, from Gase to Stewart Street. An independent jury will determine the winners for the best entry, most creative themes, best floats, best horse riding entry, best car club or motorized car, and best walking organization.

Participation topics should reflect our Western heritage, Las Vegas city birthdays, then and now, and/or the tradition of Heldorado Day. Please submit your application form online no later than Apr. 19, 2019. 바카라사이트 순위

There is no admission fee for the parade; the high school marching band will receive $1,000 for participation! Groups of high schools that make and enter a Western heritage or Las Vegas birthday-themed float will receive $1,500 for participation alone. Schools will be limited to two admission fees each. Heldorado was created in 1934 by Elk Lodge's Order of Charity and Protection No. 1468. Today, the parade is sponsored by the Las Vegas Centennial Commission.
