Manami Takehiko
Hirou’s fifteen year old sister, a kind and caring girl who dislikes violence and doesn’t want her brother to fight for money. Manami may come off as a bit of a crybaby but only because she doesn’t want the people she loves to get hurt. Her smarts earned her a place at a private high school that Hirou sends her to. Most people would tell her that she and Hirou don’t even look like brother and sister, considering their different eye and hair colors. But because of her personality and looks, she is quite a hit with the guys, young and old. However she is very hesitant to be around men. She starts shaking and pushes them away when they get to close. This is due to a trauma she suffered when she and Hirou were kids; regardless, she has no problem being around her brother.

History

Manami had lived her life growing up in “Downtown”, an area considered the middle class of the City. Growing up, Manami and her mother were always together. Wherever her mother went, Manami went; even when her mother had to go to work. She feared being separated from her mother until one day she wondered away from a park playground and ended up in the Ghetto. Scared, Manami ran around looking for her mother getting her lost even more. She gave up hope and hid behind the dumpster crying her eyes out and that’s where she and Hirou first met one another.
After taking in Hirou as her brother, the two of them became inseparable. Her mother was glad that Manami finally had a sibling that she could run around and play with; from then on, the three of them became a closely bonded family. Manami’s mother got herself involved in a relationship with a co-worker of hers. At first it seemed fine but when she brought him home, he seemed very friendly with Manami…a little too friendly. Hirou could sense something was wrong and tried to keep his sister away from him.
One day in the fall, Hirou had caught a sever cold. Fearing the worst, their mother took Hirou to see a doctor, leaving Manami and their mother’s (now considered) boyfriend alone together. No matter how sick he was, Hirou was determined to stay by Manami’s side but was convinced otherwise by the boyfriend who told him that he would get Manami sick too. So he had no choice but to trust that nothing would happen if once they left.
During the doctor’s examination, Hirou grew restless. He knew something was going to happen but was stuck with the thought that he might get his sister sick. Suddenly, Hirou felt a striking pain in his heart; something was wrong. He ran out of the doctor’s office and rushed home as fast as he could. When he made it home, Hirou rushed to Manami’s room; what he feared had happened. He found Manami crying alone, curled up in the corner of her room with her pants off. Unfortunately, Hirou was unable to find the boyfriend anywhere…
