Keba Si Rota's Top 50 Countdown

#50
Tenchi Muyo ED #1
Watch the video here.
Although the song is only OK, the little sequence of series mascot Ryo-Ohki planting a carrot seed and taking care of it as it grows is beyond adorable. From the looks of this, you wouldn't believe that Tenchi Muyo is actually ecchi. I didn't believe it was actually ecchi until I saw the original version that Cartoon Network didn't heavily censor back in the day. But I digress. Watch the video-- the ending is so silly.

Our Home's Fox Deity ED #2
Watch the video here.
For me, it was really a toss-up between the two ending sequences of the somewhat obscure Our Home's Fox Deity. On the one hand, I like the song in the first sequence and the happy, dancing chibi characters in the second. What determined the outcome was YouTube, actually. I can't find the first ending sequence for the life of me! I guess that's one of the few things YouTube doesn't have.

#48
Naruto ED #10
Watch the video here.
I hate to admit it, but despite all the EDs that the original Naruto has, I'm not a huge fan of any of them. However, ED #10 has a slight edge over the others with the crudely-drawn-but-still-cute scenes of Naruto reading manga, playing video games, and eating cup ramen on a rainy day. It's a nice change from the other Naruto endings, which are mostly just stills of various characters.

Fairy Tail ED #1
Watch the video here.
I have a confession to make: I've only seen 12 episodes of Fairy Tail, and I'm not really digging it. Still, I commend the anime's first ED for getting this little ditty stuck in my head. Plus, the chibi characters fit perfectly with the singer's almost-TOO-cute voice. Hmm... I'm beginning to sense a theme here.

#46
Anohana OP
Watch the video here.
...And now let's break that theme. Right from the get-go you know Anohana is going to be bittersweet. Throughout the whole sequence, one sees each of the six core characters looking back at their childhood (literally) and reacting differently. Although I don't think the song is that memorable, it's synced up perfectly with the animation, and works to convey the mood of the series.

#45
Azumanga Daioh ED
Watch the video here.
I guess I must be a sucker for chibi cuteness. You know what else I'm a sucker for? Songs in 6/8 time. Waltzes, so to speak. The gentle music and flowery visuals in Azumanga Daioh's ED come together to give the viewer that warm, fuzzy feeling.

#44
Magic Knight Rayearth ED #1
Watch the video here.
You guessed it! MORE CHIBI! I swear the whole countdown won't be like this. Anyway, this is one of those feel-good songs that never fails to make you happy. Or maybe it's series mascot Mokona bouncing everywhere that puts you in a good mood. Or maybe that's just my weird way of thinking.

#43
Tenchi Universe OP
Watch the video here.
I know what you're thinking: "Keba, you just broke one of your rules!" Actually, since this is technically a different "Tenchi" continuity, I didn't. The sequence involving Tenchi's life with six alien girls who all LIKE-like him in some form is animated quite well. Unfortunately you can't see that because the YouTube video here intersperses clips from the show itself, thus breaking the fluidity. Still, you can enjoy the cool dance beat.

#42
Kill la Kill OP #2
Watch the video here.
If I had to describe Kill la Kill in two words, they would be CLOTHES and BLOOD. Of course, this sequence has plenty of both. My favorite part of the animation sequence is towards the beginning where all of the characters' different outfits (or lack thereof) are demonstrated. My favorite part of the song is when the singer rips into that chorus as protagonist Ryuuko dukes it out with her rival, Satsuki. The only drawback is the overly dramatic display of the credits. Despite that, it's a pretty well-balanced opening.

#41
The Sacred Blacksmith ED
Watch the video here.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the actual video to this one, so you'll have to make due with this fan-made video. At least that means you'll be spared more chibi-ness. But I really wanted to show you cute, little Lisa tripping over a rock.... Still the tune is catchy and enjoyable.
