This time, our OP coming from one of the greatest psychological action anime of our time. The opening to "Black Lagoon" encompasses all of the hardcore and gritty themes and narratives that the anime has to offer.

Despite my having a hard time of describing what genre this song falls under, be it rock or some form of electric/dubstep or whatever you call it, Black Lagoon's opening is incredibly unique in its purpose and execution.
First off, I have fond memories of watching a bunch of anime on Toonami and I was always excited to watch "Black Lagoon" because it had this killer opening that made you just want to play it really loud.
One thing that I often notice in anime openings is that they seem to sort of spoil the anime; sometimes little key things will give away what character is relevant, what happens, etc. Black Lagoon is one of the exceptions to this rule, and the music compliments the message of the Opening, that its a hardcore show with a heavy amount of guns, smoking, and beautiful women.
Why is this anime not on Spike TV? Wait, is Spike TV even around? I don't even remember the last time I turned on Spike TV...Hm.

If you haven't noticed yet, I love rock music.
Yeah, I was shocked when I heard that hard rock at the end of watching "Romeo x Juliet" and I believe that this was purposefully made to bring some form of emphasis to the anime.
Personally, the romantic music wasn't my cup of tea, and I already knew what I was getting into when I saw this; the reason I even watched "Romeo x Juliet" the anime was because at the time I was reading "Romeo x Juliet" in Freshman year, and I wanted a means to involve myself more in the Shakespearean dialogue so it wouldn't be that much of a challenge to me when I read it (because who really talks like that anymore, class has been dead for a long time).
Still, I had to stop listening to this song because I had basically beat it to death by replaying it over and over.
Other than that, I don't have a deep explanation as to why I enjoy this song, but I hope you do.
