theOtaku.com Anime Podcast VII - Ep. 19

Dude, yes downtown and the like is crowded like mad in Vancouver and roads are closed for walking space. And y'know what? It's all our people. I was downtown right after the hockey game (which was also amazing), and that was the craziest party ever! I've never seen so many happy Vancouverites in my life. In my LIFE. Vancouver is the most diverse, divided city I know - we hate each other for one reason or another. And y'know what? We came together finally, and it was awesome.

Also, totally bring back Chigo. We'd be game.

Can't intro. Canada-China Women's Curling right now. Is intense. Also, Olympics in Vancouver is freakin' awesome. People complaining about the Olympics have some legitimate reasons, however the idiots who broke the windows of the downtown HBC have more or less killed all respect for them. So yeah. Also, we had Our Lady Peace live and for free.

Yeah, Batou was wrong.

Ichigo totally hates Final Fantasy XIII. He also loves getting into high school girls. Also, bewbage. Ahem. Happy Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year, everyone!

Batou's sick, and that's all I'll mention for now. I need to explain some stuff: pineapple buns. Alright, turns out there's nothing pineappley about it, just that they kinda look like them - they're mostly just regular style buns with what's essentially baked cookie dough on top of it. Here, have a picture burgled from Wikipedia:

Supposedly soboro-pan would be the Japanese equivalent. So yeah, pineapple buns. They're delicious. And Ichigo, while your guess on what they're like was a bit off, you can get variants filled with coconut, or custard, or good ol' barbecued pork. Go get some.

Oh, also, Ichigo apparently has a girlfriend in Japan. I know, eh?

This probably has the slimmest connection to this week's podcast, but I totally saw the last bit of the Prince of Tennis Musical. Soooooo so funny with sooooo much okama-esque innuendo... but that's a derogatory term, so I shouldn't use that. Anyway, podcast. Also, Batou may be dead. Just sayin'.
