I don't even think the politicians want smooth inter-personal relationships, otherwise we wouldn't have all the nonsensical bickering over every little thing and we'd get a couple things done around here.
I've given up on anime/game live-action films. I think I'll still go see 'Avatar TLA', but I'm not gonna expect much. In fact, almost any film Hollywood's made over the past while has strongly lowered everyone's expectations.
Yeah, that caption just seemed kinda topical and appropriate for the time. But I didn't know it'd actually win. Though I'm pretty happy.
First off, the song used in this episode is pretty cool. Haven't seen Gundam 00, and yet the song sounds so familiar.
Second, it seems you guys had a healthy discussion on smooth interpersonal relations. So that you can have an idea of what this concept means in Filipino Psychology, here's an excerpt taken from the book used in my course:
"In the Philippines, smooth interpersonal relationship (SIR) is the rule for any relationship. One must avoid showing signs of conflict when relating to a Filipino. As much as possible he must never show a sour look, nor utter harsh words. As much as possible he must never disagree openly. A smile, a friendly lift of the eyebrow, a pat on the back, a squeeze of the arm, a word of praise or a friendly concern can easily win the friendship of the Filipino. Filipinos compared with Westerners are more sensitive and easily humiliated. One must never ridicule a Filipino. He considers with a great deal of resentment a ridicule coming from a foreigner or stranger, though not so much from a fellow Filipino or townmate. (p. 7)"
