I saw that in my backroom. Now I understand. That's really cool. I'm not sure if I'll use it though. I already know my brother here and Indi. So I already have a mentor. I think. oO I should probably say hi to the new people.

Just a question, there are + symbols for being a mentor for new members. Only a few new members have the + symbol. Is that because they already have a mentor or that the new member has asked to get a mentor?

Hmm I agree with Timber on moving it somewhere else than the backroom. Under Portals would be nice - right next to the member page :3

Anyway, it looks great :D It's going to be very useful and I think a lot of new members will definitely benefit from it. I already saw 58 new member introductions :3

Great idea, it will help newbies feel welcome and more secure here ^_^
On the other hand, like someone already pointed out, their inbox might get flooded with love mail. Which can scare them away more than the site itself XD
And I'd like to know too, what's with the (+) image next to the intros?

I'm very impressed Adam. You keep coming up with all these great things for the Otaku. I've already gotten to a few new members. When I got there I found that some of these were well broken in by other members. I'm sure they'll feel welcome in no time at all. :]

Being a mentor sounds like a good idea too.

When I was new here I didn't really know what to do so I kind of had to teach myself to slowly become used to all of the processes here~ so I'm glad that this feature will hopefully not make people be as confused as I was! I'm sure it'll be great ^^

*nods* I do agree with the people that are below somewhat~ it does create a bit of confusion in the Backroom, but I'm sure an edit could possibly be made as suggested to change it. That decision isn't up to me though ^^;

I'd most certainly like to try out my hand at this new "Mentor" feature~ this should be fun! Nice work Adam~! ^^

But like other people pointed out, it does clutter the "backroom" area quite a bit. Maybe they could be put in separate tabs or something...?

I really agree with Timber as well because it does become a distraction at time. I rather take the time and look in a different area than in my backroom. Timber brings up some really valid points.

This is a really good idea ^^ I remember back when I joined myO and was lost... It was really comforting to get a reply from a member who knew what was going on ^^ i'll deffo try to lend a hand myself.

Just a question, when this becomes a requirement to becoming an OtakuAngel... How can you tell who has used this feature or not?

Like you said, this is a big place, and I think it would be a good boost for ne members to be greeted by those who've been here for a while. It's good encouragement and allows them to slip more easily into an active role in the community.

So that's what's going on!

When I first clicked that part of the backpage I found myself reading some information about some new people and found a place for me to introduce myself at the bottom. I decided against it because I wanted to submit a card first before it got off my mind. When I went back, it said that I wasn't "new" enough to do so. Let me tell you, that's confusing! >_< But I'm okay. ^__^
