Being a long standing member has nothing to do with it really, as Adam said in the update, it makes it hard for people to just create fake accounts in order to harass others. :p Much like how you can't be anonymous either. I suppose you could see it as a reward but I see it as a deterrent to spamming and flamming.

@Adam: Oh and that being said, I sincerely hope that we do NOT have an invisible mode. If we can't be anonymous then seems like being invisible would defeat the reasoning behind that. Unless moderators can see invisible members, but I still think not having it would be better.

And though it goes without saying, I'll be glad to help out with the moderation Adam. ^_^ I love doing that at OB so I think helping with a chat would be fun.

Anyway, I have no problems with helping out when I have time. Though I imagine that's the reason behind wanting plenty of mods, to help ensure that people can get help if needed.

Ah... a chat room. Sounds like a good change of pace for theO. It's been quite a while since I've been in a chatroom. It'd definitely make it quicker to communicate rather than simply pming back and forth (and keeps the inbox from getting cluttered, too! =^_^=)

Whether we have chatrooms or not, I'd still stick around theO. I love it here, even if I'm not the most popular member. It's just a nice place to relax and make a couple friends.

And with the people that created the chat room what kind of 'power' will they have to keep a hold of their chat room?
Would we be able to have passwords on the chat room?

Not only will our normal theOtaku staff serve as moderators, but we're going to let OtakuBoards' massive team of moderators have chat moderation abilities too.

Wait... What?!? o_O I was not expecting to hear that. XP Not that I would mind helping out, that's just surprising. Though it makes sense that you want lots of moderators. It will just make keeping the chat from getting out of hand a lot easier.

Anyway, should be interesting to see how it goes once it launches.
