I find it odd that Tokyo's governor is worried about what people in the West think, which shouldn't be in play in Japanese politics. Truth be told, I haven't heard a damn thing about what the Japanese people think about Tokyo's bill.

OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB?!? *kidding* I watched it back in my years of childhood. Not my type of anime, I'll leave it at that...
Let's see all the anime(s?) that I know that would be affected: Loveless (Yaoi), Gravitation (Yaoi), The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Haruhi and her obsession with Mikuru), Elfen Lied (Koda and his cousin.)
...Well, that's gonna' effect the anime industry. Big time.
XD I'm gonna' need to try that game sometime. I'm sure I'd succeed. (Kidding once again~)
Love the opening song once again, Ichigo, see ya' next week!
The problem is, this bill will now place stricter regulations on things that are not necessarily even sexual. What if it's just a lite, fluffy romantic story, but the relationships in it are gay/lesbian? Under the language of this new bill, that sort of thing is considered "deviant" and "harmful". Is it right for them to make that decision, especially based on a prejudiced, bigoted point of view?
Now that they've passed the bill, I'll just be watching what I've been watching because I own a pretty fair amount. And I've never been into the kind of stuff that they'll be regulating with the bill anyway. But it's definitely a good thing and people who try to get around it by giving dirty stuff to underage people should go down.
A urinal game: in case potty training didn't quite get through the first time.
'Shinryaku Ike Musume' is actually a funny little series.
This is pretty much exactly the same deal in Tokyo as the "Violent Video Games" court case in California.
A super vague bit of legislation designed "to protect the children" that would in turn open up a precedence for just about anything and everything else you could think of. And it's headed by a governer made famous by his earlier violent works in film.

It sounds like this bill would really only target certain anime and manga, especially shoujo-ai/yuri and shounen-ai/yaoi. The blood relative thing also makes me think of Angel Sanctuary, which is one of my favorite manga but has an incestuous relationship as a major plot point. Honestly though, this sounds like overkill by the standard "moral crusader" types (and from what you've said before about this Tokyo governor, he is definitely one) who feel it's their duty to "save" the rest of us from things they deem evil or sinful or destructive, when in reality it is far, far less so than they imagine. Not to mention he really is a hypocrite, if he's making blanket (and factually inaccurate) statements about people being perverts if they buy this stuff when he made his career and writing sexually explicit books.
Huh, I never made the Ouran connection til now. That really is going way overboard, if they went after it. And I wouldn't be too shocked if they tried.
Whenever I see a prawn, I think of that line.
We decided that since this year was the second anniversary of Movie Sign, we'd do two months of Rewind. But we will not do three months for the third anniversary. That would just be a little too much.
We finally record tomorrow... Where did the time go? o3o Heh, and by the time you read this, it'll be a week since we did.

I about snorted my brain out.
I'm not proud of having three laptops, but hey, if it gets me a "well played" mantra, then I'll take it.
For some reason, the comment readings this week got me laughing terribly. I've been told I'm easy to make laugh. Don't exploit this on me. :P
The wording of this bill, and definitions of what they define as, well, "bad", strikes so many chords with me that makes me cringe and tweak out. Thanks for clarifying the bill, Ichigo, because I wasn't quite getting what the problem was.
...No more adopted siblings loving each other?! There goes all those Korean dramas my Japanese friend likes to tell me about. (Apparently they all get leukemia in the end? Something, I dunno.)
The biggest problem with the bill is - yes. The vagueness. Though...images of Tokyo government officials buying manga and looking through stuff to deem them "inappropriate" is rather funny.

Nice take on the Tokyo bill, Ichigo. Made things much clearer to me.
