I'm actually surprised no one has said Maes Hughes yet. He seems like a really cool (and spaztastic) dad. :)
You know, Jecht from FFX stands out pretty badly in my mind all the time when it comes to Fathers... But he's not exactly a good father, considering he makes Tidus cry all the time. o_O
And then there's Ed and Al's dad, who disappeared when they were little.
And Renton's dad in Eureka SeveN who.. is a mystery as well.
And yeahh.. I don't want to say Isshin because I'm sure a ton of people will. HEY I KNOW! Tohru's dad. Even though he passed away by the beginning of the series, it's pretty obvious he was amazing. (Unlike Kyo's father.)
Chiyo-Dad from Azumanga Daioh wins, hands down. Because not only is he a professional athlete and can rescue his child(ren) from being kidnapped, he also questions the goodness of tomatoes. Come on.

We took my dad out to Red Lobster for Father's Day. But he's on call all week and just as our food was coming out he got an emergency phone call that took an hour to fix. We eventually took his food home to eat. Weirdest Father's Day ever!
Hmmm favorite fandom father? I have no clue. Tetsu and Tatsu's dad from Peacemaker Kurogane seemed pretty cool. Even though at the begining of the manga he was already dead =P

Favorite fandom father? Well... not to be totally obvious, but Kurosaki Isshin does kick a lot of ass.
I'm actually having trouble thinking of any more. Probably because anime tends to have fathers be dead, absent, or really sucktastic.
