Sorry for not commenting last week. didn't get to use the computer to comment + my school was doing tests so i was stressed with that. oh and bato I raised my hand when you said no one cares for the olympics. The 2 teams i want to win tough are USA and Japan. I don't watch it often, only on a rare occasion. this being not 1 of them. Question for Mask. What songs are played during the openings and endings of the show TOKKO^?
haha yes its true most of the people here dont really care about the olympics
i honestly didnt even know the olympics were going on or anything until one day in school people told me this guy got like killed or somehting whilst iceskating(i really dont know..)
eh. The Olympics are not that interesting. -_- Didnt even watch the Opening ceremony. Anyways, they really should hold the Olympics at somewhere that actually snows.
Also, Batou, I'll see your 1980 Lake Placid USA vs USSR and raise you a 2002 Salt Lake City CAN vs USA.
In 1980, it was about the young and excited Americans taking on the Soviet power house and overcoming something the world had yet to pull off as of then.
In 2002, it was about an almost cross-generational and gold-hungry squad of Canadians taking on a world that hates them and loves to see them lose. It took a really close game that included a violent spear and crosscheck to the back to one player, leading to a shockingly angry Wayne Gretzky press conference that both shocked and invigorated a whole country. The fact that the final big win both ended a decades-long medal drought and also featured a secret one dollar coin buried at center ice by the ice surfacers makes for a hell of a story.
As such, give it 20 years or so and I will bet that "A Loonie For Luck" will make for a far more interesting movie than "Miracle".

O hay podcasters!
Yeah, we were snowed in. We didn't lose power, but I know a lot of people around here did. There were two storms around here last week, and I got off of school for a week and two days. So that was a fun time. And on top of that, school started an hour late every day last week. I think we had around 30 inches the first time and like 40 the second. So it all really piled up. Woohoo, Batou cares about us! XD
I'm not watching the Olympics. I've watched men's luge and figure skating, and only because I was at my friend's house and she's obsessing over the Olympics, so we watched a bit. Oh and I watched some skiing thing with my dad for a couple minutes, that was fun. But other than that, I haven't been watching it.
Someone posted a thread on the forum I moderate a couple days ago with information on 77 movie sequels. The bit about Avatar 2 was: Avatar 2
James Cameron is sitting on top of the world with Avatar right now, and he’s publicly declared that he’s looking into one or two sequels. He says that he held back on some story elements with the original film, and wouldn’t want to not make use of all the work that went into creating the world of Pandora again. He’s not committing to any time scales on the project, but if he’s using what’s already been set up technically, it should be a bit quicker this time round…
If you're interested, the rest of the movies are here. Though I'm not exactly sure how reliable that site is. It could just be a load of crap.
Just over a meter is rather impressive (and yes metric is obviously better, XP), but really, it's all relative depending on the location. So you can't expect everyone to be impressed with snow in one area of the world (directed at the Washington snow, and the attack on the amount of snow that Tokyo got). :p
They are both large amounts of snow for their areas.
"The rest of the world watches everything we do." XDDDDDDDD
The thing about Winter Olympics, or Olympics in general, is that on this site there is definitely a disproportionally large number of the type of people that would not be interested. So you kinda have to take that into account, lol.

My question is why the Japanese decided not to show up at the Olympics. The speedskaters sucked in my opinion. They won two medals in the 500m! Well, they still looked horrible. The only other medal was bronze men's figure skating won by Daisuke Takahashi. Oh joy. Any info on that, Ichigo? Why do the Japanese suck at the Olympics? They're tied with Slovakia. Really? (No offense to Slovak otakus.)

I only watch the Olympics when it's on the TV at work; not being very sporty myself, I don't care too much. Maybe the reason people are caring less is because of how judgmental people are of the athletes when they're off the field/arena/whatever?
I thought Avatar was something that James Cameron had spent 10 years wanting to create? (And that he only announced and all after hearing that Avatar the Last Airbender would be out soon.)
I'd like to see Barbie with a career as a telemarketer. I wanna see that. But then maybe they wouldn't be able to cast her with that big fake smile then.
-raises hand-
I also could not give a damn about the winter olympics
I'm only waiting for the 2012 olympics in London
And the apparent end of the world
I've gotten around to watching/finishing "Himitsu - The revelation" and the words "breast reduction" immediately made me think of the episode that centered around body modification. It showed a girl getting her boobs cut off. Squick.
I agree with you Batou, I'm not all into the Olympics. I'd rather go watch a German Shepard itch its butt while playing call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 wearing an Ichigo fan club t-shirt. Now that would catch my attention. XD
For the record, I totally already have a picture planned for March Member Madness featuring you boys. Bwahaha. Also, bitches love Quatchi.
Second also, with the ending, it occurs to me I haven't heard that particular Olympic anthem all this time. This year it's been all about that "I believe in the power of you and I" song. Go fig.

@IchigoKurusaki:
Honestly, I have never heard or seen Tokko until you told me about it. But since you asked me a question, here's the answer:
Opening Theme: "Nothing" by dB
Ending Theme: "Sherry" by dB
Source: Tokko (TV) - Anime News Network
"Students, be ambitious!"
