aww, Beckles. That sucks I'm sorry. I haven't read the particular thing you're talking about but I enjoy fleshing out character and enhancing relationships between them, both as a reader and a writer. Whatever that woman says, you're a terrific talent and don't get discouraged. Usually my favorite parts of the stories are the calm between the firestorms. It builds the intensity and makes you care about the characters so that the events that happen to them matter to the reader. It's the difference between, "Oh, there was an earthquake," and, "Holy Crap! Ernest was swallowed by the Earth during during the quake!"

Some people are so stupid.

Don't let one person (or even a few) discourage you as long as it's something you really want to do ^^
