Hello, everyone!

You have reached the rambling, the fangirling, and the general chill-pad of theOtaku's NightBeck, a.k.a Becky, a.k.a Crimson Lotus the Irish Ninja.

... okay, maybe not the last one. But people will be calling me that one day.

This is your place to chill, talk about life and fandom, and be generally crazy. So go on. Play nice, be good to each other, don't make me hurt you.

My favorite series: Princess Tutu, Ookiku Furikabutte, Mushishi, xxxHOLiC, Monster, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Escaflowne, and Baccano!

My writing: Cafe Cliche

I want to put something (or someone) through a wall.

That paper I posted to Fan Words? Got a B+ on it.

But that's good, you say! Not when it's the same grade that teacher has been giving me for two semesters straight now.

Since it appears the grade doesn't change no matter how hard I work on the paper, I'll just have to not work anymore! That would save me from getting my hopes up, at least!

God. Today I've taken a three-hour essay test, packed up the entire contents of my life into six boxes, and I broke my lava lamp on the floor and proceeded to step on a piece of glass. It really doesn't feel like I'm going home soon.

*Phew!*

I finished that paper on Ringu! It's up on my writing world, Cafe Cliche, for anyone who was interested. Now all I have left is to get that 19th Century China and Japan test over and done with, then pack up and get out of here! So close!

Because one-liners are awesome.

So James. I might be going to Vancouver this summer.

PSA

I'M STILL ALIVE! (I'm doing science and I'm still alive -- wait, I'm a Humanities major!)

Busy as all hell, but still alive all the same. I've been sampling the new season's offerings during my downtime, but I've been too incoherent to offer much in the ways of fangirling. Rest assured that I'll be doing a lot of that once finals are over. That, and giving my other two worlds some activity! I underestimated how tired schoolwork was making me.

Also, I'm writing this badass paper comparing modern J-horror (specifically Ringu, but I talk about Ju-On a bit) to Edo-period ghost stories. Should I post it up on my writing world when I finish?

This is what's been eating my life and killing my back lately...

So what has my Japanese Student Association been up to lately?

Well. About that! Click to see.

And if you'd like to know what the hell this crazy dance is, read about Yosakoi festivals here.

Yeah, I'm second from the right. Up front. W-What the hell, Sungtaek.

And if you're wondering why we all look confused in the first 30 seconds, it's because the sound people put on our music before we were ready.

And yes, we did randomly sample the Tell Me dance.

(By the way, this is from Culture X. Culture X is a yearly performance in which various culture clubs and other people who are pretending to be cultural put on dances, sing, or play music. It's always a good time!)
