on their faces from what they just saw on the screen. “Oh man… Mr. Hibiki!” Kurt and Amber yell, honestly concerned.
“Hey! What are you kids doing hanging in front of my house? How long have you been there?” Kurt started to open his mouth and at the same time on the screen Mr. Hibiki started to rush toward the man and then put his right foot forward and bent his knees. Kurt notices the TV again and in that instant Mr. Hibiki shoots his body upward and sends his fist up like a piston while bringing his right foot up and keeping his left leg straight. As he does this he yells out “kouryuken!” Kurt in awe just lets out a “whoa.” The homeowner gets irritated and says “you’re still here? Go before I call the cops!” Amber decides to leave and drags Kurt with her “let’s go Kurt I don’t need to start having a criminal record” Kurt still in awe mutters
“that looked like the sho…” before fading into the distance.
Later on in his bedroom Kurt is standing and staring at his fist as if interrogating it. “Hmm, how did he do it?” Kurt starts to get frustrated now. “Ok. Let’s see now he bent his knees and then shot his fist straight up…” Kurt starts to do as he says and then adds while he’s going through the motions “oh yeah I need to do a spin while rising too” and as soon as he starts to pump his legs and go for the spin, he torques his knee and falls to the floor in pain. Kurt clutches his knee and exclaims “oh God my knee! Oh man I frickin’ tore something I bet! Dear Lord!” Kurt sits on the floor and rubs his knee for a while and after two hours crawls to his bed. The next morning Kurt wakes up and finds he can move around just fine. “Whew I was scared there for a second”.
At the school Kurt is at his locker getting his books for the next class, and Amber walks up to him. She starts to creep and slide to him lifting her legs in an exaggerated cartoon-like matter. Amber gets right next to Kurt and utters in his ear “I’ve been watching you walk, you’ve been limping are you alright?” Kurt simply looks back smiles, and then says “yeah, I’m fine I kind of torqued it last night, but it should be fine.” Kurt adds “let’s go to our final class today it’s almost starting”. Amber goes on ahead, while Kurt closes his locker and starts to class as he opens the door he notices that the teacher isn’t there. He hasn’t quite made out who it is yet, as Amber seems to be having a conversation with this person and is blocking his view. Kurt decides to just take his seat but Amber stops him. “Hey Kurt, look who’s our substitute today!” Amber says while tugging at Kurt’s arm. Kurt lifts his head to see who it is. “Hey, Mr. Hibiki!” Mr. Hibiki lets a small smile show through as he explains how he wound up being the substitute for the day. “Huh, that’s some weird stuff.” Amber interjects “Hey Kurt I told mr. Hibiki that we saw him yesterday” Kurt looks perplexed for a second, and then remembers.
“Oh yeah, we did!”
“By the way Kurt, I noticed your walking a little strange, you hurt your knee?”
“Yeah” Kurt replies.
“Doing what?” Mr. Hibiki asks.
“Well… uh… while watching you” Mr. Hibiki stops Kurt and says
“Never mind let’s talk about it after class alright?”
“Alright” Kurt says with a bit of excitement in his tone. After class Kurt walks right to Mr. Hibiki and sits down in front of him. “Well, then let’s talk!” Kurt makes a big grin appear on
