I like the pink! She thinks the fish was just eating itself because it was stressed by its new environment. She rearranged the tank so that the fish has some open space to swim in, and she also removed the filter because it took up space and made a current. It seems to be doing better and its tail is growing back.

My best friend and I joke about creepy things all the time though. So although I wouldn't do it randomly, if it were an inside joke I still might.
On a somewhat unrelated note, my friend got an impulsive gift last week. I was at the mall with her and she was texting her boyfriend and they were joking about buying a fish. So on the way back we ended up actually stopping at a pet store and getting a fish for him. It's not very smart and ate off pieces of its own tail :P but other than that it seems to be doing well. She likes to mess with it and leave random objects outside the tank to confuse it.

Only flaw in that plan is that acquiring a 3D printer is very expensive. If I had that much money right now I'd just buy a lot of Nyquil and cough drops.
