I think you're underestimating your dog :P Animals are a lot more cogziant of their bodies and spiritual surroundings. I'm sure she knows what's wrong, they can sense what you feel. And I'm sure she's trying to be cheerful so that she can help you through it.
Dogs are very selfless creatures and they are great companions to humans because of this. You should try to enjoy as much time with her as possible if/when/before she does pass on. You never know, maybe your love for her will help heal her. Mircales happen when you believe strong enough.
