Hmmm...I'll try again. My main thing was trying to get all of the white filled in, and then I was making the base color darker on accident, so all across it was different shades of the same color. >.> BAH. I guess it just takes practice, Lol.

why?
at first you fill the object with a base color and with a darker one you make the shadows!
and later you can use more colors! it´s not so hard! give it a try! ^^
