I actually went and watched the whole thing last weekend, after I read your first comment! xD I liked it, the characters and tone of the show were really interesting. :D And I think the animation was nicely done in its own way, too. It was nice to see a change in animation from how all the other animes do it. :m

I'm not sure yet, I think the anime is still in production. :o What I can tell from the website (it's in Japanese), there's going to be a Doukyuusei panel at Anime Japan, which will be premiering some preview animations and illustrations. Other than that, I don't know. (Not even sure if it's going to be translated, honestly. ;0;)
I've never watched Ping Pong: The Animation. :o Is it good? :D
