Sorry I didn't notice this before Moon. From what I've read the reboot with be a closer adaptation of the manga. Which not that there was anything wrong with the 1992 release of the anime by any means, but I think it would be good for the series to follow the manga closer.
I agree with you though, I don't want anything bad to happen to a series that's so near and dear to my heart but, in the manga she was a mother of two if you remember. For better or for worse I'm excited about this reboot ^^ I can't wait until its released
