Haylie's homelife sounds like someone's I know. My mom's best friend has a grand-daughter. Her name is Olivia. Both of her parents are terrible. Darlene (my mom's best friend) is sooo ashamed of her daughter. She doesn't treat Olivia right. Livia is a couple years older than Haylie, but their homelifes sound pretty much alike. It's sad.
I can relate with the family ordeal. Since before my grandpa passed, my family has been one big pile of deceit, lies, theft, false accusations, and mistrust.
I dont see much of them anymore, I dont need the headaches.
I do however, hope that your family can work itself out. I wouldnt wish my family situation on my worst enemy.
